If you look back at the civility thread you will notice a lot of posters that ran away from NS or got a long vacation afterwards. Im still amazed of how few of the folks from the Obama years are here. But that might be the hat thread of NS at how wild it got.

I only came over here during the impeachment proceedings, and then only because of the site upgrade that created the "New Posts" view.

I have felt so betrayed by the political parties in America for so long that I just decided not to participate. It took a person like Trump to get me motivated enough to participate again. He has to be stopped.

Trump cannot block Twitter Critics, Court Rules

A federal appeals court in New York on Monday let stand a ruling that prevents President Trump from blocking critical voices from the Twitter account he uses to communicate with the public.

The full U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit denied the Trump administration's request to revisit an earlier holding that Trump violated the First Amendment when he blocked individual Twitter users who were critical of the president or his polices.

“Excluding people from an otherwise public forum such as this by blocking those who express views critical of a public official is, we concluded, unconstitutional,” wrote Judge Barrington D. Parker.

“Twitter is not just an official channel of communication for the President; it is his most important channel of communication,” the judge concluded in a decision with implications for how elected officials throughout the country use social media platforms to communicate with constituents.

Two judges, nominated to the bench by Trump, disagreed with the decision and would have reconsidered the earlier ruling.

The best way to do that is for every single soul to believe that their vote could be the deciding vote. We don't need more articles telling us that people hate Trump - we need more articles reminding us the the most important election of our lifetimes takes place in November.

Huntsville Police - How COVID-19 has Affected Us
As far as Huntsville and Madison County, we're definitely concerned for those most vulnerable in our community and hope everyone continues the protocol to lessen the risks for that demographic. It's common knowledge that you can go to the AL Dept of Public Health webpage to get the latest on COVID-19 cases, testing, and updates day to day>>> https://bit.ly/2WI5pRg . But how has this affected business at HPD like calls for service or vehicle crashes? Well, we can say there has been a noticeable drop in a total Calls For Service or CFS as we call it. For 2019 we averaged about 535 CFS every 24 hrs or anywhere from 500 on the low end to 650 on the high end each 24 hr period. We've been tracking this data and have noticed a slight drop in just the past 48 hrs. After a stat run for March 4th through March 18th it appeared data was static as usual in these categories until March 22nd. For the past two days (22nd and 23rd) CFS numbers are in the low 400 range. From March 4th to March 18th there was just over a 7% drop in car crashes. This isn't definitive data that it will stay low the next several days or weeks but it is a sign that citizens are doing what they have been asked to do in obeying the Health Order.
