Game Thread: 2020 NFL Draft

I was trying to figure out why Ruggs was wearing a robe last night. It was an Old Spice robe. He was wearing it for charity. I don't know if they mentioned it since I did not have the sound on.
They didn't mention it at the time. Maybe later or I saw it on Twitter.

Ruggs looked chillaxed, nonetheless. And now he's a rich man!

Tua to Miami....could mean Taulia enters the portal and then goes to the U? Family is strong and stays together and the U would be ecstatic to get him. Add in the Bryce Young factor and seems like a QB squeeze this spring and fall. Thoughts?

There's been a lot of speculation about this AND Mac Jones experience/talent level VS. Bryce Young being the kind of talent you can't keep off the field. If you'll look up some of the QB threads you can read for hours.

But to your question: IMO I think there's a good chance Taulia doesn't finish his career at Bama.

I wish I could have joined in last night. I did at least get to watch. I'm proud of the BAMA guys. Tua obviously made the correct decision. Now I hope his health holds up and he proves all the naysayers wrong (there are a few). Hopefully he morphs more into the Manning/Brady style and doesn't rely on his legs as much. If he can stay healthy, he is a Hall-of-Famer and Miami will celebrate yesterday evening for many years to come.

Hopefully we'll see some more guys go tonight. I figured Xavier would get picked last night, but as typically is the case in these drafts, someone is going to get a really good deal on an underrated Alabama defender tonight.

I'm curious to see when Jalen is selected and by whom.
Dallas has pick 51 in 2nd and 82 in 3rd. I mentioned last night that there was a report on the local NBC sports segment that Jerry Jones really likes Jalen. They would simply draft him as a back up to Dak.

I for one am not as enamoured with Dak as a lot of people. I personally think Jalen has similar skills right now and maybe even more upside eventually if Dak ever got injured or started struggling.

So that's something to watch for concerning Jalen.

I think you're right about Dak.

So last night I saw a Tweet about the Bama boys and the "guaranteed" money their draft spot typically made.

Tua was at 30 million. 😮 I normally don't pay that much attention to things like that, but if it's even close to right....wow!
Combined they will get contracts worth about $84MM, most of it guaranteed. Those 4 players are now set for life.

Maybe I'm a little biased about Dak, IDK. He's good, but I'm not sure he's great.

Kinda feel the same about Jalen right now, but I was wrong about his NFL aspirations a couple of years ago when he got lapped by Tua. First, it's no shame to get lapped by Tua. But then Jalen decided to get better and he did in very measurable ways. To his credit, he's grown into a good QB and may still get better with time and opportunity.

I don't think they are ever going to win a championship, conference or Super Bowl, with Dak. He's a good QB, but there is something missing. For every great play, there is a boneheaded mistake to undo it. Heck, he's not what Tony Romo was, and they could never break through with him. Of course, part of this was always Jason Garrett, and he's gone now.
