Reminder of what Brando said about Scott Frost

The next Nick Saban

I guess the lesson is that anything Brando predicts it would be a safe investment to bet the house on the opposite outcome. Because in year 3, Frost is nowhere close to multiple NCs, nowhere close to being the next Nick Saban, hell he is nowhere close in competing for a bowl game let alone for a Big 10 title.

In a related story, he dropped some money on the 1985 Patriots to wallop the Bears - because, hey, they feel disrespected.

I can give someone a pass for going out on a limb if it seems reasonably plausible for the events to unfold. What exactly does Nebraska have going for it in college football other than a glorious history of powerful offensive linemen before they religiously tested for PEDs? It’s no coincidence that the mighty huskers fell off the face of the Earth after testing became more stringent. Nebraska ran over Florida and prompted Spurrier to hire Bob Stoops, who then began to demolish Nebraska at Oklahoma. That’s about the only contribution to recent college football history Nebraska has made.

what a maroon

lol. I’ve met Brando 2 times, and he is one of the most arrogant people I’ve ever been around. He was speaking at a Nebraska event and I attended it because my ex’s dad wanted me to be his + 1. I wore my Bama shirt and Brando asked if I was “ the typical stupid Alabama fans who calls into the Paul Finebaum show to complain about Gary Danielson?” This was totally unprovoked and he was just being a jerk. But at the event he made statements about how 94 and 97 Nebraska would’ve still beaten all 7 of the SEC teams in the Streak (06-12 champs) by two touchdowns.

He is a clown that I really don’t understand how he is a major sports commentator.

Well what really gave the rise to that Nebraska dynasty in the 90’s was Barry Switzer no longer being at Oklahoma. Osborne just could never get by a good Switzer team.

North Dakota State was not a big deal yet.
K-State was building
Oklahoma was crippled first by probation and then by 2 bad coaches hired (Schnell and Blake)
Bill McCartney retired at the end of the 1994 season after reviving Colorado

Just to be clear - EVERY dynasty benefits from the crippling of someone else.

Nebraska should go back to the Big 12, with Colorado. They're in a tough recruiting location and will probably never rival Ohio State in the Big 10.

Forget Ohio St. They can’t even match up with Iowa and Wisconsin.

Colorado actually has a good reason to join another conference. So does aTm and Mizzou. But Nebraska never had a reason to jump ship.

Tennessee and Florida for starters. Saban helped usher out Fulmer and Meyer, though Fulmer was on his way out anyways and Meyer had no plan after Tebow. Tuberville also left Auburn the same year Fulmer left Tennessee. That's 3 successful coaches. Changing of the guard for sure.

There’s a colloquial saying about an alligator-mouth...

If it hasn’t happened yet...Brando is overdue a “Karmic-butt-whipping” of astronomical proportions!!!

Brando is the ultimate opportunist. He put that out there because he knew that if he were wrong, very few would remember (and thank you 81, for being one of the few who both remembered and documented it).

But if he had been right, I promise you, he’d be at the summit of Mt. Everest bellowing to the world how prescient he is.

Not that he doesn’t do that anyway, evidence to the contrary notwithstanding.......

Brand has been wrong on so many things.
He comes across as very arrogant that he knows all the answers for college football.
.... As an announcer he is pretty good... as long as he does not pontificate.
