Generally, very accurate. Their model picked OSU to beat Alabama and Oregon in 2014. However, they admit that their model is hampered a bit this year because of the lack of inter-conference play.

You do realize that they were literally given two TDS by blown calls? That “close” SECCG wasn’t that close.

Yea and you do know you have to account for blown calls as well? I was just talking score wise gezz

I have no idea. I don't see Ohio State running away with it under any reasonable circumstances, but they have enough fire power to pull out a win. There are reasonable paths to Bama blowing out Ohio State (Fields has one of his high turnover games - he's had several) but I assume it'll be somewhat close.

I expect both teams to be in the 40s scoring.

I personally think it will TAKE 40 points to win this game. The points will be very spread out, however, and might devolve into score-for-score contest. Whoever turns the ball over less, and commits less untimely penalties, winds up winning the thing. Sounds simple enough, and obvious enough, but that one turnover at the wrong time, or that one false start, might make the difference in the game. Think of Ole Miss' false start in the 4th quarter this year. Until that time, they were moving again, and set up to score again. That long yardage situation changed the drive, and kept them from scoring again, not the defense.

This could be like the 2009 title game. Bama looked unbeatable against a historically good UF team and then took a step back against Texas. I think OSU spent a lot of energy thinking about Clemson and they may not be able to replicate their play against Bama. Like 2009, 2020 OSU also has a QB that was his team's MVP the game before but now is suffering from a rib injury.
