This was how I was last night:
1st quarter-" Defense is coming through... we got this. "
2nd quarter- "What is going on!!?!?! *start drinking beers*
Halftime-"on third drink of beer* This is rough, we gotta score coming out of halftime!"
3rd quarter- " What is going on?!?!!?!? *pour a bourbon shot*
4th quarter with 3 minutes left "I guess we gonna lose to Auburn.... Let me go ahead and pull out the auburn shirt and post a pic of me wearing it...."
4th quarter with 1:27 min left- "wait a min... if we could drive down the field.. unlikely but Young is very good at this..."

4th quarter with 24 sec left " We tied with them, we going OT! No way... we gonna win in OT.. Auburn defense is gassed!"

1st OT- Okay...
2nd OT- We had them!!!!!!
3rd OT- WE had them once again!!!
4th OT_ Defense and Young clutch! I can't believe we won. I was speechless and shocked. NO way we pulled this out of a hat... I was crying and hugging my wife... by then i was on 10th shot of bourbon.
I don't even drink but understand everything you said except the part of owning an Auburn shirt. Bro!

The Barn vs Alabama is a RIVALRY! WHAT? Bama 48 wins and Barners 37 wins. That is a RIVALRY!

What is the record for the following so-called rivalries?

Michigan vs tOSU
Michigan leads the rivalry between Ohio St 59-51-6.

But records are just a part of a rivalry. Hatred and animosity between the teams are another. Living amongst Ohio St and Michigan fans in my adult life and growing up in Alabama I can tell you that Ohio St vs Michigan is far far far more personal and has far far far more venom attached to it than Alabama and Auburn has ever had. Alabama vs Auburn is a friendly rivalry by comparison to The Game. It’s not just a Yankee fabrication to say they have a superior rivalry than the south, it’s just reality.

They actually hate each other and the game historically has been far more unpredictable until very recent history.

Have any trees been killed in Michigan or Ohio? Now, I did not know the rivalry was that close in wins between Michigan and tOSU. Thanks for educating me with facts.

Galloway and Cubelic were nothing but sore losers yesterday. Cubelic was on the sidelines in a later game and put Alabama at 7th in the country. Why is obvious! He said that Bama had barely beaten a poor Auburn team and Notre Dame, Cincinnati and the other five were playing better than Bama. A ridiculous bit of sour grapes that should have never made it on the air.
If you don't think we occupy a unique place in CFB, remember this:

If Auburn had beaten us the way we beat them yesterday and had our record facing UGA, the narrative would be, "They just never give up, never say die, who knows, maybe a little luck and they beat UGA!"

If Oklahoma had won yesterday the way we did against a 6-6 Okie State, they'd look at their season of struggle wins and say it was proof of perseverance, overcoming all that talent lost to the NFL, never gives up.

If Cincinnati had won yesterday the way we did against ANY FBS team, it would be, "This team deserves a chance to show what they can do. They overcame the ejection of their best receiver and injury to their best running back yadda yadda yadda."

Alabama does what those teams do a whole lot more often because they're not as good.....and the narrative is, "This team has no business in the top ten."

Amazing how they can see only what they want to see.

Did anyone ever believe they see Coach Bryant’s grandson get benched as the PAT and kick holder in the Iron Bowl? I felt bad for him, but goodness.
Hmmmmm. I wonder who made that decision:Coach Saban, Coach Svoboda, or #17?

Oh, and that hold that negated Auburn’s longest play of the day. The one that’s on Twitter and message boards as obvious evidence that the refs cheated. The one Gary called a flop and got away with one. Pretty clear Branch would have made the play if not for an ACTUAL hold by Barney. View attachment 20963
Gary was looking at the wrong guy and pronouncing the penalty bogus.
Uh, yeah, if you are looking at some other player than then one who committed the infraction, every penalty is bogus.

Well 1) Updyke was never a true Alabama fan in my books. I don’t think 99% of the fanbase ever seriously considered poisoning a tree in Auburn. 2) the rivalry between Ohio St and Michigan was seriously seen as an extension of a real war between the two states when it was first played and many fans still try to hold a century old grudge between the two states.

I’m just saying as a whole Michigan vs Ohio St is far uglier amongst the fans and players. It gets really bad and extremely petty and personal.

Maybe ask @B1GTide or @OSUTideFan the difference between the two rivalries. The iron bowl since Dye has been far more back and forth but the overall hatred I still say you will have to experience it to understand it because Ohio St vs Michigan is the clash between two fan bases that truly hate each other.

It’s kinda like the hatred between the state of Missouri and Kansas
