I think that he will, and that this will be what leads to his retirement if the next round of changes don't bring pretty immediate results.
That’s where I’m at. At 71, this feels like the inevitable downward trend in results. Can we win anther championship under CNS? Possibly with some changes, but it is what it is at this point.

Don’t you know, Kirby is the new Goat. He scored a national championship and went for six. shaking my head at some of the so called Bama fans.
You can be the GOAT but not the current best... I don't think we are there yet but if Kirby wins it all this year they have a little mini dynasty going. I do think we are closer than ever to no longer being the most feared team. UGA and OSU both have younger coaches who don't seem like the types to try the NFL route. That terrifies me a little...thinking 3 To 5 years down the road. But Saban is the undisputed GOAT. Kirby is right there with Dabo and Urban Meyer.

For those who are anti-criticism, how many more seasons like this are acceptable? Coach had trained us to a certain standard and criticized us game when WE don't achieve it. He is not immune. This team is simply not competitive and that's not acceptable. Losing is okay when you've given your all - this team looks like it doesn't know what to give.
u point that out and they will call u Aubie troll here

its not the losses .. its the way team plays which is bothersome

Saban said Alabama’s pair of two-point conversions in regulation, which both failed, were based on the chart that said both made sense in the situations. This tells me a lot. I really can't remember Coach saying anything like that through the years. This tells me he's not as hands on as he use to be. Or I could be wrong. That last two point conversion made no sense at all.

The SEC attracts the best coaches and players in the country. It is deeper now than any conference has ever been, and Saban is the main cause of that growth. Playing and coaching in the SEC is not for the weak. Saban will step up, or at least try. But the SEC is not a conference that can be dominated by one program anymore.
I think that’s true for the West but not the East. I don’t see UGA really being challenged in the East in the near future. The West is like a NFL conference where anyone can beat anyone in any given week, at least amongst the top 4 or 5 teams.

What I saw from Brian Kelly last night scares me and confirms what I thought about him; give him legit talent and he can beat anyone. He was handcuffed at ND, but watching him last night I realized how good he is as an in-game coach.

Welp...We all know the 1st Two things that HAVE to change

NOW

Will CNS do it now or in the off-season or at all??

I have no idea at this point.

This is also the most undisciplined team we have had since 2006 going into 2007 when CNS had to straighten out Shula's mess.

What's super worrisome is that all of this is on CNS's watch.

We have the talent to be a NC Contender, but our lack of discipline and Coaching issues have me worried we won't even win 10 games for the 1st time since 2007

I'll also say this...

I've changed or maybe this team has changed me.

In my youth a loss like this to Tenn and LSU almost back to back would have enraged me and I would have never been able to sleep last night.

But as soon as LSU started celebrating I literally muttered 'welp' under my breath and immediately went to bed/sleep.

Guess I've lost my fire too.

Changes are an absolute MUST right now.

The strategy of trying to out athlete everyone is not a winning strategy. Haven’t lost to Tennessee & LSU in the same season since 2006.
I was going to say it several weeks ago, and I'll elaborate later.

But this season has had a feeling of 1982 all over again.

And before anyone asks, NO!!!.
I'm not predicting Saban retiring after the season.

Not competitive? That is a bit to far, no? They lost to a great UCheat team after missing a fg and lost in OT to a Great LSU team...both in hostile environments. Def a down year but they aren't getting throttled so they are competitive.

So not accepting mediocrity is now "spoiled brat" attitude? We have been trash on defense for several years now under Gol*ing. You can even go back to 2020. We almost lost to Florida. If the gators recover the onside kick is there anyone on here that thinks we could have stopped them? Last year we had 4 close wins against bad teams and a loss to a bad team. This year we have had 2 close wins against average teams. Sure we make fun of texas for "if our QB hadn't gotten hurt" but if Ewers doesn't get hurt he carves up our defense and lose for sure. texas 4&* is a bad team and we got out of that because of a dumb call by them. I firmly believe if they run it, we lose. Is it going to take multiple losses for anybody to finally say enough is enough? Last night I did say maybe Saban should consider stepping aside and got called lunatic. I will double down on that and say again if he cannot see that there are severe issues with the staff and some players then he is either too stubborn or blind to it.

I'll say this I'm really worried about next season it could really really be rough. Probably this is a four loss team this year and if everything stays the same coaching wise. And I don't think there's a quarterback on the roster right now they can dig you out of some of these holes the way young does in games. I really believe he's the only reason we beat a couple teams this season because of his Houdini Acts. Jalen Mill road is a great talent but him being second string scares me about what's behind him at this point and I know they're young don't get me wrong.

You can’t win every year :)

feel sorry for Bryce
I don't.

With all due respect to the guy who is probably the best all-around QB we've ever had, he's part of the problem. It just gets lost in the fact he's one of the few things more often than not that has worked.

He's afraid to be hit - and nobody needs to give me any "but he got hurt earlier this year" because he was doing this last year, too.

And if I can see it, I'm pretty sure opposing coaches can see it, too.

I am talking about the conference as a whole. When TX and OU join in, the divisions will likely change a great deal. The SEC as a whole will have 4 or 5 teams vying for a title every year when the expanded playoff kicks in. That is crazy deep.

No one is anti criticism. For all of you That are heavy to criticize on a public forum, DO YOU NOT THINK COACH KNOWS THAT? They were on the doorstep to a title last year with this coaching staff, barring 2 injuries I believe they would have won it. that’s why they were retained. Now what do people want? Coach to fire the entire coaching staff in Baton Rouge? He is not going to tell you what he wants to do. How do you know that coaches haven’t already been told they will not be retained? We already know CBob is telling future recruits he probably will not be on campus when they enroll. I Know the loss is frustrating, and on some levels I disagree with Nick that the players feel worse about it. But the man doesn’t need to explain his future plans on personnel moves to you , me or anyone else on this board .

He is now, but he was not before his injury. Before that game he stood in the pocket and took some major hits when necessary.

After reading an article this morning what Nick Saban was saying I don't believe he's going to make any changes I really don't. I hope I'm wrong but I really don't see it coming.

I believe in his ability to do so. I'm curious if he still has the desire
I have no doubt that he still has that desire, I just feel like he was tired of the constant movement of coaches, thought he settled on some good coaches and that just hasn’t been the case.

I don't care if he's afraid to get hit now or not if he's not the quarterback of the team this season we already have four losses. And end up with six. This team has many more problems than Bryce young being afraid to get hit you can believe that much.

Exactly. Without Bryce young this season but this team would already have four losses. Six by the end of the bowl game.
