Nah, "ain't no" backing out of this hire. Bill B soiled his pants in what was probably the worst staff/personnel move he's ever made as Pats coach/gm. Seeing that Kraft made a public comment earlier in the year that it is bothersome that they haven't made the playoffs in three years, then having to watch that stage 5 crap show that was Patricia and Judge. Robert Kraft "helped" with the hiring of BOB.
Yeah Belichick didn’t make that decision. I think Kraft is about to pull a Jerry Jones and fire a legend if he doesn’t start changing because Kraft knows that Boston isn’t Chicago in that they will follow losers.

Well we got what we wished for on the OC/DC side...now its time to hire new blood and return to playing Bama football
Sans these two coaches I think we are looking at a threepeat National Championship game in 2023. The talent was and is there.
Lack of motivation and imagination and a misplaced sense of loyalty brought us here.
The GOAT has awakened!

Second-Year Common Opponents Sark vs BoB Comparison (2020 vs 2022)
Arky 52 vs 49
aTm 52 vs 24

Tenn 48 vs 49
MSU 41 vs 30
LSU 55 vs 31 (OT)
Ole Miss 63 vs 30

Auburn 42 vs 49

Again, I know there's more than goes into it. After all, LSU was awful in 20 and average to pretty good in 22. Still, it's about as accurate as "these numbers show BoB was better than Sark."
In 2020, Alabama had these players on the team. Add Jaylen Waddle and John Metchie as well

In addition to the Heisman, Smith won numerous other awards, including the Maxwell Award and the Biletnikoff Award. Other award winners included quarterback Mac Jones (Davey O’Brien Award and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award), running back Najee Harris (Doak Walker Award), Alex Leatherwood (Outland Trophy), Landon Dickerson (Rimington Trophy), the offensive line (Joe Moore Award), and offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian (Broyles Award). Six players were named to various All-America Teams with Patrick Surtain II, DeVonta Smith, Alex Leatherwood, Landon Dickerson, and Najee Harris as unanimous selections and Mac Jones as a consensus selection.

The team finished the 2020 season with a final ranking of No. 1 in both the AP and Coaches' Polls.

Because of their dominance of their all SEC schedule with multiple ranked opponents, and the fact that they finished with three Heisman Trophy candidates, 2020 Alabama is seen by many as the greatest college football team of all time and the greatest of the playoff era by ESPN.[1][2]

I wonder how BOB would have done with this group? Hard to say.

Here is where you I am going to ask a question that I haven’t heard asked yet.

when did we start to see a decline in WR development?

and when did our current WR Coach join us?
I've seen people bring up Holomon Wiggins but I'm not sure how blame can head his direction yet.

He's been the WR Coach since 2019 and there hasn't been a noticeable drop off in WR play or development until this year really.

How much of that is Recruiting, Coaching, or Development?? I'm not sure.

Metchie and Jamo were both 1st Year Superstars that weren't previously coached by someone else here.

I do know that BoB did absolutely NOTHING to help scheme ANYONE open from the WR group.

I won't say Wiggins has zero blame but jmo I think BoB handicapped the WRs greatly.

IF we hire Top shelf OC and the WRs STILL can't get open in 2023 then I think Wiggins is fair game for criticism and blame.

Again though not saying you are wrong...just that I think we need more data on this.

last year after Metch and Jamo there was virtually nothing. Except Latu and Brooks for one drive.

Not sure if you mean 2021 or 2022?

In 2021 everyone else were FR it seemed and I'm not sure why NONE of them could get Slade off the field?

But Brooks did seem to emerge at the very end of 2021 and it carried over decently into 2022.

If he had one more catch he would have led all WRs in Recs, Yards, and TDs

Holden, Earle, Baker, and Hall have all dipped on out so I'm not sure what that says but none of them looked like WR 1s

The only thing I'm kind of frustrated with is that I thought Law and Bond would get a lot more playing time because they DO have WR 1 abilities.... WR 2 at worst. I hate that we lost Anderson too.

But jmo I think the 2022 WRs issues are about 50% BoB's fault, 30% The Injury to Bryce's Arm Fault, and 20% Recruiting, Coaching, and Development.

Hopefully a Top Shelf OC will fix things.

Bryce throws a very catchable ball. Bob can’t make them catch or run great routes.

I do blame him for letting Bryce ad lib too much. But the WR Dev For the last two years has been horrid

With Bryce I mean his injury hampered some of what we could do on Offense.

The Deep Ball wasn't even attempted for the entirety of the middle to late portion of the season.

Bryce also didn't seem to have his full arm strength or accuracy for much of that time either to be able to fit the ball into as tight of windows as he can at 100%.

The injury also seemed to affect his confidence in attempting certain throws because there were plenty of times that the young WRs were open and didn't even try to go to them.

I'm 100% not trying to Criticize Bryce about any of this.... I'm just saying his Injury had a big effect on the WRs production.

BUT...

BoB had an even LARGER effect because despite Bryce's injury he was still Great at the intermediate to short Pass but a lot of time that wasn't available because of BoB's predictability.

Opposing D's KNEW what we were going to attempt Pre-Snap because BoB only ran the same Basic 1990's NFL plays on a loop.

We didn't use any kind of Tempo, or Motions, or Varied Formations to throw them off and get some Isolated Mismatches to help our young WRs get Wide Open.

In College FB you can't just assume that all your WRs and TE's will play perfectly like professionals and win their per-snap matchups nearly all the time.

You have to take advantage of specific matchups like targeting the others teams weak spots at CB or get the WR on a Safety or LB in Man Coverage by moving them around pre-snap and use other WR and TE and RB routes to clear a Path and Uncover them.

BoB is/was CLUELESS at this type of stuff.

I do agree that one would hope that a few WRs would have emerged as really great the last few years but I'm more inclined to say we missed on evaluations because of how many guys bolted.

I still think Brooks, Law, and Bond have TONS of potential with a Good OC.

My view is that Bryce made plays that were not designed to be made under this system. THAT's a big part of why the stats are gaudy.
I watched 4 Bama games in full in 2022 (Texas, TAMU, Tennessee, and LSU) and I'd agree that a lot of what I saw was Bryce Young -- and even Gibbs -- making plays by themselves.

P.S. I know Young didn't play against TAMU, but Gibbs had a pretty good performance that night.

I'm pretty interested to see who Saban chooses to replace both Golding and and O'Brien. The good news is that, at a program like Bama, you can essentially choose from the very best options.
