As best I can figure, the car in the pic was going through the intersection when it was t-boned by a car going roughly warp factor 3. The car was slammed into a bollard, which opened the car up like a can opening. Here's the car that initiated the accident:

As noted in the twitter thread, had the bollard not been there, the cars would have goen straight into a propane tank storage cage.

I once went on a submarine ride too (Maui). We did not go down 12,000 feet, more like 150 feet. This is not the Titanic. It is a ship they purposely sunk for tourist to go look at.
