Who’s leading QB1 race in FALL practice?

Probably not, but I think MTSU will do what alot of Bama's OOC opponents do and play above their heads for awhile. They may put up a fight............
As for Texas, their offense is supposed to be good, but their defense is an unknown......some say not as good as last years defense. If Bama's defense can unsettle their QB and disrupt their receivers, I think they will be ok............I think Bama will win a dogfight
It being a home game will help

Alright so readjusting after reading more from a few places and 81s observations

QB1 Milroe
QB2 Buchner/Simpson
QB4 Lonergan (may have an outside shot later in the season if things really go off the rails)

Absolutely.................Bama's home is always the best place to play, and the fans can cause UT some issues with the noise
Its why I am really happy our first sec road game isn't until week 5. Our Qb will have some games under his belt before the road slate really kicks in.

We should be ok going on the road week 3 against south Florida.

Yeah, it will help a lot. The most hostile environment Texas has played in under Sark was in Fayetteville 2 years ago and they lost convincingly. This will be much more hostile.

As for the QBs, I listened to some instant reaction podcasts of the scrimmage on my ride home earlier and it sounded like Milroe had done everything but been named the starter and that Lonergan would be the #2 at some point. Reading the board, it sounds like Milroe's time is up and Buchner should probably be the guy. The only consistent is that Simpson just hasn't done what he needs to do. I think I need to just take a break for two weeks and look forward to the MTSU game.

there are others who say Simpson has done pretty good................at this point it's all opinions, and we know about those...............just have to wait on the one opinion that matters

I don’t think I can remember an off-season with so many conflicting reports about the QBs. It’s really weird. Overall, I’m quite disappointed in Simpson. It’s pretty clear to me Milroe is never going to be the answer, and it shouldn’t have taken much for someone to overtake him as the presumed started. The fact that hasn’t happened yet is really scary. It’s not like Milroe has made any measurable progress either. Like I said, it’s getting scary.

Yep I think fan evaluation are riddled with bias they might not even realize half the time.
I’ve seen conflicting reports on Ty but also seen where he had 2 string offense vs 1 string defense so I could see everyone of our Qbs having struggles with that.
Here’s to someone just stepping up come game time and earning it. That’s where the qb battle will truly be decided.

I read that...............doesnt sound like Milroe is doing that well. I know there are those who want him to win the starting job, but the best man for the job should win, not a fan favorite
If I recall correctly, Jalen Hurts was like this string in the spring and none of us thought he had a chance going into the USC game and we know how that turned out.

Did you read what 81 said about Milroe?

I would probably go with his depth chart prediction even with Milroe’s day today. However I would probably go more like this

1a Milroe
1b Buchner
3 Simpson
4 Lonergan

I don’t think there is clear separation to the point any are out of it. But Milroe is far behind all of them in accuracy and understanding the offense

I think Milroe is more the default guy at this point and Saban is going to give him a final shot to put up or shut up.

I wonder how much of the discrepancy in who looks best at QB is related to what sounds like the receivers not catching the ball consistently. Contrary to what Coach Saban said to today at his presser, it sounds like our receivers are still really struggling with this, which is absolutely mind boggling. I would understand it if it was one or two guys, but it sounds like it's all of them. This is my biggest area of concern.

I didn't follow the 2016 QB battle as closely or at least I don't remember it as well.

But Bateman and Barnett were named co starters only for Barnett to be pulled after 1 series for Hurts and then Hurts was the guy.

So, idk what people at scrimmages were saying but really we're not going to know for sure until the games.

I get what your saying but No this is different. I can go back and watch 2013 and 2014. I can find thing to like about 2010 and other years we didn't get it done. This is different. The last two years were sloppy, soft, penalty prone team that constantly has gone 3 and out. No ability to run the ball when it mattered and got pushed around. Its just not alabama football.

I find T-Bob Hebert more tolerable than his co host Aaron "I huff paint" Murray. Murray comes across as way more bitter about what happened in his playing days than T-Bob Hebert. If you think alabamia is going 10-2 this year. Cool. That could really happen if things don't break our way. But to say Alabama's CEILING is 10-2 is just completely ignorant. And to say that Auburn has a brighter future than Bama because they got Hugh freeze. Auburn, Who basically has had every single coach resign in disgrace or get fired in the last 30 years and has never had any real sustained success outside of maybe the 80's??

Murray comes across like a guy who's bitter that he could never actually win the big one. And deep down he knows he is going to be remembered as the guy who quinton dialed bodied and the guy that looked gob smacked when 2nd and 26 happened.
This is why Aaron Murray has nightmares about Bama:
