It might be too early to assume that Simpson gets the start against OM. Saban may have told Milroe he's not playing against USF because Saban simply wanted to get a good look at Buchner and Simpson. In Simpson's favor he didn't commit any turnovers but it may be only 50/50 in Saban's mind about who starts next week.
You think Nick Saban benched his starting QB to see who the back-up should be? Seriously?

BamaNation, I think it was you that posted the radio link. Thank you for that. It was right with the broadcast and was easy to follow. I didn't have to listen to RGIII.
yeah, i had my earpod in one ear listening to our guys. But had sound on b/c Mrs. BN & our daughter were in room. Was able to hear RGIII's dumb comments and overreactions. He sounds like a HS broadcaster who wants everybody to know he's on the radio.

I definitely get your point. But I'm re-thinking my own assessment of Milroe against UTw, and wondering if I was too harsh. That OL is horrendous, and I'm thinking might have affected Milroe than Milroe's own weaknesses affected the OL.

After today's OL debacle, I'm just not sure. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when Saban and Rees discuss it.
Milroe turns the ball over too much. That alone is enough to not play him, but he misses wide open throws too. IMO we can’t afford to play him again. His ceiling is really high, but his floor is WAY too low.

At this point just let Ty Simpson take the reigns. One thing is for sure, playing musical qb ain't gonna work. Let TS play and gain experience and let's go from there.
Also, the Oline issue has got to be fixed and honestly I think it begins wit strength and conditioning. We couldn't push our way out of a sopping wet paper bag.....
Something is going on with coaching because there is no way we should be this bad.....PERIOD.
Need a better OL coach...........

Simspon did not lose the game. He did ok for a guy that did not take any 1st string snaps all week. We will see if he takes the 1st string snaps for a week this week and see next Saturday.

The fact that Milroe is now 3rd string tells me something else is going on.
Buchner looked really bad.

Yeah, I'm curious about Milroe.

Buchner played his way out.

I’ve always thought Ty gives us the best chance and I’m glad he got his shot today. Now he needs to work on his pocket awareness or this line will get him killed. Rbs need to pick up pass protection.
Yeah, I feel like the running backs are missing quite a few blocks in pass protection.

If I was CNS, I'd stick with Simpson at QB and tell Rees to tweak the offense to make the most of what he can do. But I'd put an emphasis on the running game. Bring Simpson along slowly and not ask him to do too much.

I would also consider firing the OL coach as soon as the team gets back to T-town.

Yeah it was totally the easiest pass of all time, bench him. Every other QB we’ve put on the field was so much better and definitely would have made that pass. Which is why they didn’t, it’s all a ploy.

Geeze dude. Take a chill pill. Was it the hardest pass and read of all time? No. But he actually made the play and ran the offense, with no turnovers. Led 2 TDs. More than we can say for anyone else.
Agreed. It's not about 40 yd runs as a qb. Or even throwing a 60 yd bomb for a td. It is making the routine plays that will put you in a position to win. I'm just not sure Milroe can do that. And we have a way bigger sample size on milroe not making the routine plays than most people admit.
