If you haven’t seen it, I would love some feedback. Cheap shot? Yeah. But out 2-3 games from that hit?

Not sure how he was hurt that bad. Bryce took much worse in Knoxville last year.

But man, the drama over it.

Our beloved sport is about to be equal to TMZ

The Colorado State guy is suspended multiple games for that? He wasn't even out of bounds, how is that a late hit as I just read on ESPN.

It was a shoulder hit as well, so no targeting.

The ball had just landed long, so there's no way the whistle had blown that fast.

Its an overreaction.

Definitely a cheap shot. People are overreacting though because the game in general was very chippy

there is a young, hip vibe to Colorado these days, and they are social media warriors. Anything done to their new found Colorado love is ‘personal’ . In the end , it’s just football though.
IMO, Colorado St was matching the Buffs swagger and intimidation with plain old hard nose , play to the echo of the whistle football Intimidation of their own. And it almost worked.

It’s a dirty play.

The punishment for it is certainly debatable…but it’s a dirty intentional hit.
I don’t see it as a dirty play. He wasn’t trying to injure him. You can certainly say it’s a late hit, but that’s not ejection-worthy.

He wasn’t ejected, I think social media keyboard Warriors are in an uproar saying he should be suspended. There is no CFB commish, and I doubt the Mountain West will suspend a player for something that happened in a Pac12 stadium , so who would suspend him?

He lowers his shoulder into the receiver after the ball was 2 yards away on the ground.

It was absolutely a dirty play.

And I don’t think a dirty play requires intent to injure.

Did you see how fast they were running? It’s not like he went for his knees or head.
The ball had bounced on the ground and was on the sideline by the time the defender lowered his shoulder and hit the receiver.

It was a dirty foul.

Is it only a dirty play if you go for the head or knees?

A late hit isn’t necessarily a dirty play. A dirty play is when a player intentionally tries to injure another player IMO.

The punishment does not fit the crime for these types of hits, that are intentional and blatantly late. 15 yards...other sports have mechanisms to make sure these are punished effectively and penalize the team who commits them. Maybe suspend the player for the series, the half etc..or something so he thinks twice about committing such a penalty. If the team receiving the hit loses more than the one committing it then something is wrong.
