Was the hit on Travis Hunter Worthy of Ejection?

Personal foul for unnecessary roughness is the right call. March off 15 yards and play ball.

Football is a violent sport. People need to get over themselves.
That’s what I’m saying. This reminds me all the stupid replays or targeting calls. People can watch the same play and see totally different things. Just throw the flag and move on.

It was late, it was hard, it was a “hey I’m here and if you come back you’re gonna get this again” kind of hit. Something to give the receiver something to think about next time he ran a route. I think it was worthy of the 15 yard penalty. I think it was meant ti send a message and give gator-arms to the receiver.
Was he trying to knock Hunter out of the game, I don’t think so. I find it hard to believe that the defender knew specifically it was Hunter running down the field that he was about to smack.

It’s a dirty play.

The punishment for it is certainly debatable…but it’s a dirty intentional hit.
Looked to me like his view of the play was hidden by other players. He may not have seen the play was over. Hard to tell. I don't think it was intentional for no reason.

Well both BC and CSU cost themselves games yesterday via the Bama 2022 MO -penalties and turnovers. CSU - 4 turnovers and 17 penalties -170 yards . BC - 2 turnovers and a school record 18 penalties for 130 yards.

As far as the hit on Hunter, I see it as a personal foul and a cheap shot. But, Lord what late hits aren’t cheap? Most are delivered with that intent. So CSU was hit with PI call plus 15 yards tacked on. Targeting and need of a suspension? Absolutely not. Hitch up your britches and play on.

The Colorado State guy is suspended multiple games for that? He wasn't even out of bounds, how is that a late hit as I just read on ESPN.

It was a shoulder hit as well, so no targeting.

The ball had just landed long, so there's no way the whistle had blown that fast.

Its an overreaction.
Sorry for the confusion. I don’t know if he’s been suspended or not. I’m trying to figure out how the guy can be injured from that, and out for 2 to 3 weeks as is being reported. I’m not even sure what the injury would be.

That’s what I said. That dude is used to laying the wood. Unless he fractured a rib, I don’t know what could’ve caused him to be out for 2 to 3 weeks.
Wow I can’t believe that. Then again, the hit on Hamlin didn’t look like anything weird either. Football is a strange sport.

Must’ve hit him just right for him to miss 2-3 weeks. Cheap shot? That would be a blind side or something like that. Late hit? Sure, but guys get hit way later and nobody faces this sort of backlash.

in short, if this wasn’t Colorado it wouldn’t be a story.

Honestly, it reminded me of the hit Mo Lewis gave Drew Bledsoe that launched Brady's career. It was a pretty big impact, but not some crazy, out of the ordinary hit. But Bledsoe ended up with a lung injury (I think) that had him out for a month.

I didn't think it was any more violent than other hits I've seen, but it may have just caught Hunter in an odd way and lead to a out of the ordinary injury.

Hard hitting football play and lessons in talking smack before and during a game. Don't write checks that your body can't cash! Throw the flag and move on. Basically the DB was standing straight up on the hit. No helmet used at all.

If you haven’t seen it, I would love some feedback. Cheap shot? Yeah. But out 2-3 games from that hit?

Not sure how he was hurt that bad. Bryce took much worse in Knoxville last year.

But man, the drama over it.

Our beloved sport is about to be equal to TMZ
A game or two seems about right. Dirty play for sure. That guy had another questionable play too unless I’m confusing him with another player. That whole game felt like someone was gonna get hurt. Both coaches were tacky and both teams lacked sportsmanship. I never wanna see Bama play like that. No class
