Jalen Milroe is now the starter going forward.

Here's a thought I had about this. Maybe CNS is trying to light a fire under JM. I'm sure y'all remember 2015 when CNS started Cooper Bateman against Ole Miss. Bateman didn't play well and then Coker came in and played like his hair was on fire. Coker won the team over that day, even though Bama lost. Coker improved throughout the rest of the season. Maybe CNS did the same thing on Saturday with JM.
I didn’t see Milroe come in and save the day like Coker did.

I don't know what happens if Milroe throws 2 picks against OM. Does Saban pull him or is he committed now no matter what?
Probably keep him in. He did that against texas, so it tells me that nothing will change. Outside of an injury Jalen is the guy for what ever reason. It makes me wonder what the hell was really going on Saturday. I mean a guy doesn't play at all. Supposedly isn't injured. The team has a "players only" meeting. Now we get this information. I just don't understand.

Occam's Razor people. Maybe Milroe, despite his flaws, is just better than Ty and Buchner.
yup. we know what we have in milroe. looks like the usf game was to let the coaches see if buchner or simpson would be better in an in-game situation than jalen milroe.......they weren't. coach is rollin with milroe. and, quite frankly, so am i. i know what i'm getting with him at the qb position.

That was my first thought. Let everyone see the competition against an opponent they’d beat anyway just to show the situation.

The fact that we took Buchner in the first place said all you needed to know about the QB room. He stunk at ND.
He wasn't great at Notre Dame, but what he did in Tampa Saturday made him look like an 8th grader trying to play in the NFL.

I’ll hope for the best and cheer for the team eaither way but I’m not thrilled about this decision. I still feel when we face a better team and they take away the run game and deep ball we are going to struggle but let’s see how he does his 3rd time as starter for alabama.

I have no inside information whatsoever, but it looks like some of the team mailed it in on Saturday because Buchner was named the starter (obviously a bad decision). By the time the hook was used and he was pulled in place of Simpson, they had floundered around to the point of almost costing us the game. Simpson at least showed some command and poise even if he didn't play great.
Yep.

Somebody else said, but why would CNS come out and announce to Kiffin we rolling with Milroe on Monday???

Something's off.

Two things: 1. Saban playing Buchner and Simpson would suggest that Milroe will be on a shorter leash from here on out. 2. Rees must adapt the offense to play to JM's strengths (designed QB runs, rollouts, moving the pocket). 3. As has been said in this thread, the OL is is the bigger issue (#123 nationally in sacks allowed). Patrick Mahomes couldn't function with that bunch.
