Jalen Milroe is now the starter going forward.

I don't know what to make of this, but I know it doesn't look good.

Proctor does not even offer a hand to his quarterback after he gives up the sack

SMH
I’ll say that it’s exactly how it looks and exactly what it and it’s exactly what Pate stated.

The team made their choice now let them survive or fail with it. All we can do is cheer for the them and hope for the best

After this game Jess said:
"For now, though, Simpson is in the driver’s seat and should stay there unless he does something to get himself tossed out of it."
Even in our darkest days as a program, I have never been this confused. Back then, the answer was simple, we just sucked. Now though, I have no idea what’s happening. It’s unfathomable.

game has changed. recruiting has changed. The man is in his 70s.

Maybe he's not "done", but a ride off into the sunset and not pulling a bobby bowden, is and always has been my preferred Saban exit.

The decline is real... and this situation makes it clear to me that we've just hit the iceberg on the titantic
I think your glory days of posting are done. The iceberg wasn't "on" the Titanic (not "titantic"), it was in the ocean.

As i said... we'll never know what happens behind closed doors. However, we've had 2 meetings, i'm sure to address exactly this.

Its a known fact now that JM re-acted so poorly to getting benched that he was suspended basically for the SF game. Now he's back as the starter AFTER not playing.

The entire situation REEKS. And is very un-saban like. The entire team isnt on board and hasnt been on board. The play has declined over the last few seasons and now this.....

what if saban had retired after the last national title and Sark taken over. Might be in better shape.
maybe folks should just take a deep breath and stop filling in gaps in information with ideas that the team is somehow manipulating saban
I hope the team isn't and I hope Milroe's parents aren't. I really do think Milroe, if used properly, can be average. I think Simpson needs to get some playing time too, but not sure how that will work out if we have close games. Pretty sure Simpson is 2 now.

I had hoped Simpson would win the job all offseason, as I was not high on Milroe and knew that Buckner was not SEC quality. And, obviously, Simpson only had one half of action, in which he had a couple of nice throws, mixed in with several sacks. Of course the OL is a disgrace, but he also didn't help himself by not getting rid of the ball or moving up in the pocket. Since it was really his first game action, that is understandable. But the bottom line is that USF is one of the worst D-1 programs out there, and their pass defense was putrid against Western Kentucky! If Ty had that performance against Texas, I'd have said he deserve to start. But USF....it's not as clear. Truthfully, I think Milroe would have broken off some big runs and we would have scored a bunch of points.

So, I am sad that Milroe is starting, but not outraged. Let's see how it goes ag Ole Miss. If he stinks it up, time to give Ty a real chance. Just my take, on a bad situation all around.

waking up to the falcons being 2-0 has really shaken what i thought i knew about how the world works
Yeah, the falcons are 2-0, a bunch of PAC-2 teams are ranked, Alabama has no identitiy and is falling in the polls, and Iowa and Duke have a better record than us. I am pretty sure the end of the world is coming. This is the 7th sign.

I don't think there is anything to it. Think the kid was just upset that he whiffed his blocking assignment...again.
I don't think Fowler would post that if he didn't already think something is up.

He asked what people what they thought about this play. Do you think he'd just stir the pot for no reason? The average fan might. But Ryan Fowler?

I don’t understand what we were supposed to expect out of him. He was the 3rd string AB with supposed huge upside. Was put into the game at the very end of the 2nd quarter so basically only played the 2nd half. He managed the offense to all 17 points, didn’t make stupid mistakes, didn’t get rattled, didn’t turn the ball over. That is all I’m asking the backup QB to do when coming in unexpectedly into a game because the starter can’t perform.

A better evaluation would be after he actually practices as the starter and starts a game imo.
And if those numbers held up for the entire game, we well may have seen a result more like 30-3 or more.

That would create a completely different look from what we're seeing now in terms of the QB situation.

I’m genuinely curious what it will take for the Milroestans to admit they were wrong. A loss to Ole Miss? A loss to aTm? More turnovers? I’m honestly asking. Where is the line?

I’ll reciprocate by saying I was wrong about Milroe if we finish the regular season undefeated, or if we lose one more game and it’s clearly the defense’s fault. I don’t see that happening.

I don't believe for a second that Saban named Milroe the starter because of some form of player mutiny.

But IF...IF...IF that's what really happened, I would suspect that this means he's about ready to ride off into the sunset, because I can't imagine him (be it the drill sergeant Saban or kinder gentler grandpa Saban) ever allowing that to happen under his watch.

Accordingly, I'm not buying that story line without significantly more information.

I don't know Moon. I am just calling what I see. Kid got beat and resulted in a sack. Simpson was on his knees and Proctor pushed the player that had just beat him. Looks to me like a typical freshman taking out frustration on the dude that just schooled him.
