Bama Game Thread: Official Postgame Thread - Bama vs. Ole Miss...

He does look like a decent candidate.

Some people will point to this and say that using the portal heavily doesn't work, but Lanning has mastered that as well. His first year he got 10 out of the portal, then after having a 10 win first season he stepped that up and got 15, so he's young, he knows how to take advantage of the current rules and his team looks pretty good.
They looked as good as any team to me...although CU was missing their best player and a couple of others.

Roll Tide! Great win for the good guys. Had some car trouble today so I missed the first half. I will have to check it out to see how much we improoaftee the half time adjustments.

And the 4th and 8 the series before that.

great game today!
Sometimes you have to tip your hat...we held a Lane Kiffen offense to 45 pts under their average, less than 2 yards per carry, and less than 300 yards passing in a game set up to reward offensive football. I would say that is pretty special...

How is it that we have now had 2 games in 2 years where people didn't know what down it was?
SEC Refs gonna SEC ref. We take 10 minutes to review every friggin thing. You would think that would be one primary thing that's reviewable because it's so basic and has nothing to do with judgment. Unless of course, one ref moves the chains and then signals 2nd down. THAT is judging that 'ah what the hay, I'm just going to wing it and do whatever I want.'

Agreed, the oline played above average wrt pass protection. Was it perfect? , no, but he was far from running for his life like we saw a few games ago.
Like I said the Ol was better, and that is what was needed. I expect them to begin picking it up from there. Tough games coming up. The guys want to do well, so I am hopeful. They have gone thru a big change.

With the size of our OL, if they can gel and start moving as one unit they can do some serious damage to DL's. They are frickin' huge

Just now getting to watch the second half. A couple of observations:
1) Kiffin called a good game but that was the most disciplined D I’ve seen since 2016 or 17. DBs played well and looked for the football. Got pressure from outside & inside. Outside the 4th down play, really good ball.

2) Terrion Arnold is probably the best corner. He’s either great or terrible. He was dialed in today.

3) Inside zone blocking proved to be effective for the run game. Maybe it’s starting to click with them.

4) Milroe is gaining confidence & he’s leading the team. When Simpson went on the 2 pt conversion Milroe was the first one to meet him. More reps will help him improve.

I’ll take a SEC win any day of the week
