Bama Game Thread: Official Postgame Thread - Bama vs. LSU...

Great game by Milroe. Glad to see him running more decisively.

I get it, but it wasnt targeting, it was (by rule) roughing the passer. It's tackle football, a violent sport played by elite, powerful athletes. I didn't enjoy Daniel's getting hurt, but I thoroughly enjoyed seeing our defensive players laying big time hits on the opposing team. The last several years we'd lost our physicality edge under Golding. We got it back under Steele.
I would remind that just a few years ago, it wouldn't have even been roughing. JM has been hit several times that way this year with no call at all. We're moving towards flag football...

Why though? UGA is gonn win the East, there’s no doubt about that. I’d rather be the team that beats them first.
I think undefeated teams are gonna start dropping like flies soon. It's that time of year. Would be nice for Georgia to lose 2 so that we don't risk them getting in even with a loss. I'd prefer to not have to play anyone twice.

yes, I believe it was intentional.

i have no comment on last year. Only speaking of this game.
Football players don’t think this way. He hit him right after Daniels threw the ball. You’re understandably emotional about this play, but it was definitely not dirty. Turner was already in the process of making the tackle when the ball was thrown. He wasn’t trying to injure Daniels.

It happened extremely fast and he got there right as the ball left his hand................

Roll Tide!

I am curious, if that was roughing the passer on us, why wasn't it called when Milroe got hit like that a couple of times this year. I remember once on a long TD throw he got nailed, and I remember another. Both no calls for roughing....
It wasn’t roughing the passer. Totally bogus call IMO. Of course they kept showing it at 1/16 speed, which made it look like he hit him about 10 seconds late. At game speed he was on him the instant he released the ball.

The flag was thrown because he drove him into the ground, meaning he fell on him with his entire body. Is the rule stupid and weak? Yes, but the call was correct. Those who are calling for targeting are wrong though.

Great game for a while. The better team won. the turner hit on JD rubs me the wrong way. It wasn’t why UA won. I’ll just leave it at that.

What should he have done differently? Concussions happen in this very violent game. The hit was hard and aggressive, it was not a dirty play. It deserved a penalty, maybe even targeting but it was not dirty.

Actually, a lot of guys here want UGA to win out to help our SOS if we get to ATL.

But I want them to lose then lose to us so they don’t even go to the playoff.
This. I don’t want to have to beat the same team twice if we’re fortunate enough to make it in.

You dang right his intention was to knock him out of the game. That's the intention of every defensive player when they get a running free hit on the quarterback. It was a penalty, by rule, but it wasn't a dirty hit, vicious as heck, but not dirty.

I know as a LSU fan it bothers the crap out of you. But as a Bama fan, that type physicality and playing on the edge is a breath of fresh air. It's going to get us some penalties, but it also sends a messsge. We bringing the wood and have intentions of using it.

Again, I think you need to take some time and then rewatch it without emotion. It was a spur of the moment play and nothing more.
