Hadn`t really considered that aspect, to be honest. I think he`s a snake, myself. We are talking about Kirby here. His loyalty would disappear faster than ham at a church dinner if his ego was fed enough.

I would argue - as I have here previously - he was never that good of a coach in the first place. Take away the Winston years (2013-14) from him, and he's 101-47 (.682).Here is a good article on Jimbo I saw today on espn. I wasn't aware of some of the things happening and his attitude about certain things. Still can't believe he is getting that much money to not coach.

All they need is someone to give their delusion and money focusMoney. Nothing more. Money now buys players. Get the best players with a good coach and you will win.
It’s hard enough to focus an 18-22 year old male mind when he isn’t making any money. When he’s making more than his position coach, it’s nigh on impossible. All they need is someone to give their delusion and money focus
Lanning 100% shut it down in an interview the other day when asked about the 8&4 job. Unequivocally said 'not interested'.Kirby's not taking the job mark it down, I don't think it's Lanning either he wants the Bama job when it does come open some day, I believe it's Elko he is just a football coach that is what they need

Source: UTSA's Jeff Traylor interviews for Texas A&M's head coaching job
UTSA's Jeff Traylor, who won three state titles as football coach at Gilmer High School, has interviewed for the Texas A&M job, an A&M source says.www.statesman.com
Well, if I actually believed anything that comes out of a college football coach mouth, I'd agree this closes the door.Lanning 100% shut it down in an interview the other day when asked about the 8&4 job. Unequivocally said 'not interested'.
I saw an article that says his "buyout" equals over 23K a day. A DAY!Here is a good article on Jimbo I saw today on espn. I wasn't aware of some of the things happening and his attitude about certain things. Still can't believe he is getting that much money to not coach.

Definitely agree. But still would like him to win at least one big game at Ole Miss even with the talent gap. I do think he'd make a lot of sense for A&MNot to take up for Kiffin, but at Ole Miss he has never been close to even on talent level in any of the big games.
He did have some big wins at USC. In particular a win at Oregon that knocked them out of the running for the BCS and us back in. I can't remember if it was 2011 or 2012.
I have, though it's been many years.A&M has got to pay a lot!
Any of y'all ever been down there to College Station???
It feels like somebody with more money than sense said "Let's build a school out in the middle of this ranch." It's such an uninspiring place. KF is an impressive stadium but I didn't see anything else that made me think, "Wow, this would be a cool place to spend 4 years."I have, though it's been many years.
I do recall thinking that if that campus is indicative to what it looks like to have 10x the money Bama does, I'd rather be poor 'ol Bama...
Glad we have who we haveIt’s hard enough to focus an 18-22 year old male mind when he isn’t making any money. When he’s making more than his position coach, it’s nigh on impossible.
I just get the sense every time CNS addresses the "elephant in the room" that he has absolutely no plans of not coaching in the near future.Definitely agree. But still would like him to win at least one big game at Ole Miss even with the talent gap. I do think he'd make a lot of sense for A&M
I mean, there's even a thread on TexAgs making fun of the Soviet-era brutalist architecture that's so common on campus. I mean, it's UGLY compared to the tradiational SEC campuses. It feels like somebody with more money than sense said "Let's build a school out in the middle of this ranch." I have been there as well a few years back. I think we stomped them that night, but the campus is pretty plain and not alot of interesting things to see or do. I recall the stadium was extremely loud for a little while and they were not even that bad seeing me wearing Bama gear.I have, though it's been many years.
