I've said all this for years - but tonight takes the cake. There's no denying he was actively rooting against Bama tonight, unless you refuse to pay attention to his actual words and only hear what you wish.My opinion, in vast minority here, is that the guy knows a a lot more about football than most of us, . Yes he rants about officiating too much , pulls ag Bama ( prob because it’s to build up a possible upset ) , and has a quirky personality. But his analysis is way more insightful the the vast majority of talking heads out there.
You all will be hating most of the ESPN folks next year, other than Tidefans fave Herbie.( whom I also like, btw).
Gary suggesting we should have kicked a FG is proof of what an idiot he is.
He was giddy while we were losing and when we got TD, he was trying to find a way it was incomplete.I've said all this for years - but tonight takes the cake. What are you, his mother? It's not his job to SHUT UP, but to weave in the history of Bama, Saban, and other coaches (he's been around awhile). He's the color commentator, after all.
He also thinks that it is his job to officiate the game.
Yet he saw a lot of "good coverage" from the barn
I think the CBS is upset they didn't get the contract renewed. Nessler and Danielson certainly felt it was appropo to burn bridges on the way out the door. It's not the same Gary as he was 2008-2012. After the Kick Six he seemed to turn on us.
It happened to the coyote all the time, right? Anvils, man.I think it was in the 2012 Iron Bowl where Gary said it was an "above the head hit."
How in the hell - in football - can you hit anyone ABOVE the head??????
Come to think of it, how can you ever hit ANYONE ABOVE THE HEAD?
so did everyone else, but Gary saw "good coverage"I saw a lot on uncalled interference.
I think that's it. They don't want to call blowout games also they constantly talk up the underdog and root for the favorite to fail. And obviously he always wants to call an upset. So he is always biased against Bama.
