Give me ambiguity or give me something else.
Where is all of the imaginative playcalling that DeBoer is so famous for? Why aren’t we getting the ball to Law? Why are two coaching staffs still trying to force a square peg into a round hole? If Milroe refuses to throw the ball short and take what the defense is giving him, then he shouldn’t be playing.
Hey we made a breakthrough.

It’s coaching. Not Jalen.

Progressions are “progressions.”
See, you make these things called reads and work your way down a list depending on that.

Now try avoiding an angry defensive end that your line let loose while you’re doing it.
Yes and most route trees breakdown where when the first break isn’t open you can look for the 2nd one which usually times out right after the 1st. Which logistic wise means you are reading the intermediate range to start the progressions then working down the field excluding drop offs.Outside of a mismatch or an obvious scheme flaw from the defense that’s my understanding of how route trees are designed.
If I run a 5 yard dig and a go route it’s hard for me to read the go route then come back to the 5 yard dig. The breaks would’ve already happened and the db would be right on top of the dig route.

see there’s this thing called time. This aforementioned very angry defensive end is looking to not let you have that.

pressure is disruptive. That’s why Buddy Ryan and his son Rex stayed employed as long as they did.

If that’s the case every defense would rush 7 or 8 and no offense would do anything. You can say coaching all you want but the play calls had hot routes that beat the blitz and they were open all night. I’ll agree on coaching on one point we have someone that is ill prepared to play qb in his senior year. Then you have to wonder if it’s coaching or has he hit his ceiling because there is no reason you shouldn’t be able to read a blitz pre or post snap in your senior season as a 2nd year starter. You wanna know how to get the angry de off your back get the ball out of your hands on time.

if you have an answer for this then you have literally solved football lol.
Screen/slant/drags work pretty well most the time but they also require you to be on time. There is a reason it isn’t ran every down. No play is unbeatable or else everyone would just run that one play…
The thing about the blitz is if you get past it you are going to make them pay. So quick short passes go for big gains most the time. Also running the ball can break for huge gains because nobody is at the second level. We had them break but they would get negated by holding or block in the back.

Assuming you can pull it off. Defense lags behind offense but it generally figures it out eventually in the arms race.

When Bo Nix was at Auburn, their fans referred to him as “Good Bo” or “Bad Bo”. One minute you’re screaming “what are you doing?”, then the next minute you’re saying “wow how did he do that?”
Gary Danielson came up with it about Bo Wallace at Ole Miss.

Based on what? He constantly makes the wrong read and has no feel for pressure. The snap from Brailsford near the goal-line was perfect, and it went right through his hands. Why are people so enamored with him?
Yessir, when I saw his hands separate I was livid. It used to be a basic part of the game to take a snap from under center.

Kid just got his ass kicked for you for 40 minutes and not only didn't lose the game, he set the stage for the late blowout. Show some respect. He was great.

He played perfectly fine. USF came in with literally the perfect game plan and he not only managed to win it, he set it up for eventually being a blowout. Almost every drop back there was a free rusher he had to actively avoid in his face. The only reason his arm wasn’t *more* effective than it was happened to be because he was too busy using his legs to keep 3rd and 5 from becoming 4th and 15 for Bama or 1st and 10 for them.

He did his job. Whatever failures he had tonight weren’t his.
Milroe did show some guts and determination last night. He also made some nice plays that helped us win the game. However, acting like he doesn't continue to make the same mistakes is really making your argument invalid. He is what he is at this point, and I don't suspect that will change. Coaches will figure out how to use his strengths and hide his weaknesses, or we will have a lot more feast and famine football. Thanks for your contributions, Dub. I was really surprised that you guys looked so bad yesterday. I thought you would handle Cal with ease this year.

Was bumpy for the most part last night. Some of the people who may not have played well will be needed again. It is a long season and this is a young team getting inexperienced players snaps will benefit us in the long run.
