Gripe all you want (about the defense)…

Agree to disagree.

Is it a Jeremy Pruitt defense? No.

Again…wasn’t the offense supposed to carry us this year anyway? Wasn’t Milroe a Heisman candidate?

What about Jam and Justice? What about having no running game outside of predictable Milroe runs?

What about not being able to get Ryan Williams the ball because we don’t have legit QB that can read a defense?

again you’re overlooking an offense that doesn’t help the defense out at all….

BTW…one that all you guys said was going to carry us this year. JessN even writes in his pre game SC article the offense isn’t the issue…totally ignoring the facts of the matters listed above. Believe what you want.
Sounds like you have a HC and OC problem.

At this point the Milroe hate is a sickness. Especially if you blame the offense and not the defense. Yes Milroe had a bad game today but the o line was horrible too and just let free rushers on a few plays. Not one position except maybe d line played well today. But the Milroe hate is kind of sick now.

I don’t hate Milroe. It’s not just him. As a whole, the way the offense operates does no favors for the defense. At. All.

Then why can him out specifically especially when the defense has been so bad and the o line was horrible today. Also calling him Lamar is not an insult he was that team when he won the heisman.

I explained what I meant and I meant what I said.
I don’t know what you’re getting at but I’m not going back and forth.

A lot of the oline issue was the play calling .

Not sure about that.… pritchet has a tendency to over extend and get off balance. The DE was running circles around him all game. Also so Robert’s whiff a few times. And I can’t tell you how many times I have seen OL pulling on screens that loaded out there and just watched receiver get tackled. Those things are not scheme… its effort

I know the line was struggling to block. That’s why you call different formations and not an empty backfield. A couple draws would have killed that rush among other things.

I’ve been critical of JM in the past. But I’ll say unequivocally he has improved greatly, particularly with the short to intermediate passing game. Still makes poor choices of holding the ball too long looking for the home run at times, and sometimes forcing the ball. But what we are seeing IS a much better version of JM than last season. Sheridan, IMO, did JM and the Oline no favors with his play calling yesterday. And with about 8 minutes to go in the game, JM had been physically beat to a pulp. You could tell by his avoidance of contact late in the game.

But our problems the last 2 1/2 games is on the
defensive side. Our back seven looked completely confused most of the time. Either they don’t know or don’t trust what they are suppose to do. They aren’t trusting and reacting. And six games into the season, it is not a good place to be as defense.

it seemed like jalen got pretty shaken up on one of his runs. i honestly can't remember when it was, but the defender landed (not purposefully) with his knee on jalen's neck. jalen was slow to get up and looked a little out of it for a couple of plays

….but they got stops when they HAD to.

All I hear is people complaining about defense, and I’m over here watching us try to build an offense around a RB playing QB.

Milroe is the college version of Lamar Jackson. It’s that simple. Can’t read a defense to save his life.

That is all. Roll Tide.

Did they get a stop? Or was it poor execution by USCe, the man was open in the corner of the end zone on the 2 point try. They wouldn’t need an onside kick and subsequent drive if they converted .

The irony? Had we kicked the Xp instead of going for 2, the TD puts us up by 9, and it’s game over.

Wide open is understatement. That receiver didn’t have anyone within ten yards of him. No one even covered him.

The good news? No elite teams this year. The secondary will improve. But we have an Uber-Alpha (all about me, guy) at QB and no alphas on defense. That’s a bad place to be.
And that right now is what bothers me with JM. Not not necessarily the performance on the field as much as the body language on the sidelines at times. Over on the bench looking disengaged from what is going on when the defense is on the field. And it certainly wasn’t lost by the guys doing the Vandy game last week.
