would it be worth a series with Simpson? A different look for the Vols defense and maybe a chance for JM to get his composure back...he's frantic right now
That will never happen. Ty Simpson won’t see the field unless Milroe is injured or we are up 4 TDs on Mercer.

TN and SC’s elite defensive lines have done a good job of forcing Milroe into his bad habits, hasn’t been the same since the Vandy game.

Come on man. This is professional football. Let him earn his keep.

Man I love Ty but we have not prepared him for a road game like this.

It could backfire badly and damage his psyche.

Tua was ready for UGA only because we played him heavily in 2nd halves of games all year.

I’m not sure Ty has attempted 10 passes this season.

We live and die with Milroe at this point. He’s capable of greatness when he focuses on winning fundamental. It’s when he reverts that things go south. There was a Bunch play where he should’ve waited another half second and a man would’ve been open, but he took off and gained yardage. Although it looked like a positive it effectively negated some of our playbook.

I am unable to watch. Can someone give me a quick rundown? I see UT’s starting QB is out. Is it for the game? Is their defense legit and that’s why we have only 7 despite forcing three turnovers?
He went out for one play, then came back.

Their D has had success blitzing on occasion, but it is mostly the O being out of sync and shooting our feet off with penalties. Lists of false starts.

Milroe is obviously out of sync and has missed a few wide open field running opportunities. In his defense, the OL has not helped him or the RBs. I can't tell if the defense is playing that much better or Tennessee's offense really sucks. I guess the second half will answer all these questions.

Most of those are RPO though, correct? In that case you are still putting the decision making in the hands of the QB in terms of how the play develops. If you are drawing up a designed run I assume it would be a bit different, but I am not at the level where I can dissect in real time what's an RPO and a designed run.

What I do know though is that Washington was 102 in rushing last year, so it's not necessarily in the DNA of these offensive minds to run a balanced offense.
Idk tbh. I'd have to go back and watch closer

Remember when Milroe would take off and run when the pocket broke down. He had plenty of green grass 2 times in that last drive but threw ugly passes instead. Something has gotten into his head.

He always says he wants to be a QB and throw the ball. He seems to have forgotten that part of what makes him special is the ability to create with his legs.
