Filthy casuals are like pigs in slop right now. They can’t get enough. The thought of all of this just makes me sick.
A beloved sport --- all but RUINED for the majority of us. I have no idea what it will take to reign it all in.

That's 100% what happened. It's looking more and more like Saban lost the team last year, and it carried over to this year's team with LANK.
This is why we're going to have issues until JM is gone. It can't happen soon enough. having any player hold that much sway can never be good for a team. 100% agree that I've ZERO respect with any player involved in this non-sense.He absolutely was 100% given the job because of the Lank collective.
He tried to dip on out to TCU and they wouldn't have any of this guaranteed position hogwash.
He then cozied up to CKD right away with a 'Here's what I can do for you offer' wrt to keeping a core group of guys from hitting the portal with all the other mass exodus guys leaving.... with the understanding of "Here's what you do for me...ie give me the QB1 job no matter what".
He then shares LANK profit monies to the guys he got to agree to stay.
It's a dirty ugly situation and I have no respect for anyone involved in it.
This is not how CFB should be and this is not how the Alabama program should be run.
I'd rather be 5-7 with guys doing things the right way and earning their positions.
If so, if I'm Deboer I would sit those players for the rest of the year. I'm old school though. I wouldn't let them hold me hostage! That's 100% what happened.
FIFYWhy Saban left.
HE LET Players run the programs now.
Well, just look at our record and performance in some of these games. It's pretty bad, just looking at it with the naked eye, you can tell something is not right. You may be right, and Saban, at his age, maybe felt like he just didn't want to fight this stuff any longer. He tried benching Jalen last year against USF, and we all saw how we played in that game. I hope it's not as bad as things are sounding.
Somebody put it in one of these threads about a month ago. I will see if I can locate it.I know most hate to speculate, but who are the other players that are associated with LANK that might have been looking to leave?
Too many here just dismissed Saban’s inabilities and shortcomings as conspiracy theories or bad fan behavior but eventually the truth shows itself. Saban is the GOAT and I appreciate the run he gave me as a fan but the man is still human and made mistakes. I still think his biggest issue was valuing talent over coachable guys who would buy into the culture towards the end of his career. I think he became concerned more with comfort and was willing to take short cuts towards the end that he would have never considered in the beginning and middle of his career.FIFY
Even the GOAT drops the ball sometimes. Saban left us with a horrible parting gift.
Same.A horrible thought is that LANK doesn't go away even if Milroe does
After Saban created the LANK idea in Arnold's and Milroe's brain! So, LANK made Saban retired.....
Yes and NIL in general. So, LANK made Saban retired.....
I hate to agree; but this is not the sport we grew up on. Under the current unregulated portal and NIL neither Coach Bryant nor Coach Saban could have created championship programs. The future of this sport is now about who can financially lure and bribe the best talent. The regular season has been marginalized. Conference expansion is not a positive. The SEC will be physically beating itself up each year while the other conferences get easy access to the new playoff format.I honestly think I might be done with college football.
And he continues to publicly support players getting paid. He says "it's only fair". Yet payers getting paid is why he retired. LOLYes and NIL in general.
He said when he retired that almost every player he spoke with towards the end of last season was more concerned with their NIL pay than anything.
I’m not sure what can be done about NIL but he could have squashed the Lank stuff but opted to let it operate trying to win 1 last NC.
So he’s not blameless.
He let it be created…allowed it to continue and then rode off into the sunset with a mess behind him.
That's 100% what happened.
Force it out...............there needs to be a collective created to take over and force LANK out the doorA horrible thought is that LANK doesn't go away even if Milroe does
Man, if all of this is correct, and I'm pretty sure most of it is, Milroe sold out the team just so he could be "the man", even though he is a way below average QB. I just can't respect someone who puts his team behind his business dealings. Much worse though, I hate it for college football, what was once one of my favorite pastimes. He absolutely was 100% given the job because of the Lank collective.
