Is there a scenario where we still back into the playoffs?

FWIW, Allstate Playoff Predictor says we beat the barn and there's a 41% chance. If you look at team by team likelihood, that's right about 12th best chance...by a good 7 or 8% over #13.

So...it would be far less shocking to make the playoff than it would seem it should be.
Beating the barn is a big if. You know they’re going to come to town sky high. We haven’t shown much motivation to beat them in recent years. Saban had that businesslike approach to play with an even keel regardless of the opponent. It was maddening when it came to the barn, but it kept us from losing to scrubs like oklahoma. Now we have neither the businesslike approach to beat the scrubs nor the motivation to beat our hated rivals (who also happen to be scrubs). Hope I’m wrong though.

I apologize to the admin and mods for my earlier post. That being said, I think we can hold our own in the playoffs. Just as we have proven this year and what’s been proven against us, give us a few weeks to prepare and we can be dangerous. Let’s face it, we all knew that the time would come when we lost yet another GOAT. I know we’re all in the “what the crap mode” as well. Bama always comes back. Let’s be patient and above all RTR.

We fell to #13 so not completely out but need a couple of big upsets
Our best chance for someone above us to lose is if South Carolina beats Clemson which is entirely possible. Then the question would be whether South Carolina would jump us. We'd both have 3 losses but I think we'd get the nod over them since we beat them head to head.

It is funny that, while Coach Saban was at Alabama, the SEC opponent against whom he had the worst record was the barn (12-5).
If you ask most Alabama alums which school it was against which it was okay to have your worst record, not many would say the barn.

If SC beats Clemson, we beat Auburn and SMU loses to Auburn then we’d have a shot at getting in. That’s probably the only realistic path.

Still dont like these seedings...based too much on early season rankings that were unjustified and weak schedules...and pairing conference teams together is just nuts...the idea was to see who the best team is not eliminate the better teams by making them play each other.

Lol, that's just what they told you. The idea was to make as much money as possible while getting as many eyeballs as possible from all over the country.

Ohio St..will play the # 16 ranked team then the #11 ranked mountain west champ to make it to the semi finals...OR UT/UGA winner ( ranked 7 & 8) then have to play the #1 team in the country then OSU ....talk about unbalanced... and Utx with the weakest SEC schedule since 1965 is in the lower half which is awful across the board even to the semi final....I was a huge proponent of the CFP...but this is just an awful bracket

Unless South Carolina jumps us with a win over Clemson. And I'm not sure SMU vs Miami matters
SMU game might not matter. If it doesn't it means that the loser is out. And USCe won't jump Alabama if you win convincingly.

Oh I guess I just think the loser is in at this point no matter who it is. I don't think we get in over either team. Maybe if one completely blows out the other.

Neither of those teams has played anybody at all. The cannot afford a second loss.

Maybe you're right idk. I feel like based on where everyone is ranked that it's perfectly set up to leave Alabama out, probably the 1st team out unless some chaos happens.

I don't think they're going to punish a team that made their championship game by putting Alabama above the loser.
