Game Thread: The other games today thread (11/29/24)

A&M has the imagination of a dead skunk on offense. They haven't been able to run up the middle on Texas the entire game yet their key play of the game is the same hand off up the middle. Plus they don't even touch the Texas DE who crashes down and stops the play for a loss. Just plain stupid play calling.

Why are they making this game out to be such a fantastic rivalry? I never remembered it being anything special. Texas has won about two thirds of the matchups.

So, it looks like A&M hasn't fared very well in their big games at Kyle Field. Started with a loss to Notre Dame, ends with a loss to Texas. I guess the mystique of Kyle Field isn't all that mystical.

Or they could just have an 8-4 team - again. :ROFLMAO:

I think Texas and Arkansas was a bigger rivalry than this was.
Texas dominated all of its old SWC opponents. The Arkansas game was huge for Arkansas, but not as big for Texas. Yet Texas largely dominated the series.

This game is part of the fabric of college football though. It is lopsided all time but A&M has a respectable record against Texas since they started co-ed enrollment back in the 1970s, I think.

They’ve played the game over 100 times despite the 13 year hiatus. I’m glad it’s back, from nothing else but a nostalgic point of view. Realignment ruined so much. This is one thing it has set back right.
