This isn't a surprise at all. Congrats to him because he more than earned it! Praying for a fast and full recovery from the injury and that he has a long productive run in the NFL. Hope one day he can look back at 'bama fondly.

He has had nothing but good things to say about his time at Alabama while at OSU. It just didn't work out.

He is a DJ Fluker level road grader run blocker. Still needs to improves his pass protection but will get better coaching in the NFL.

I'm glad for McLaughlin. I just wish that that level of accomplishment had come in Tuscaloosa.

I'd also be deadly curious to get his take on what cause the bad snaps, yet cleared up in Columbus.

Regardless, I wish him a productive NFL career and a happy and healthy life afterward.

Good for him.
That said, as a center, you have to deliver the football to the QB consistently and accurately. If a significant number of your snaps tumble across the gound to the QB, then you are an absolute disaster as a center. He was not coached to do this. I am certain he was not trying to do this, but it happened.
Fix that problem and you can be great.
He did and he is.
2023's season's play from the offensive center position at Alabama was one of the very worst I have ever seen.
Glad he got it fixed and now is bring rewarded.

I think it will be a lot like how Jalen Hurts feels about Bama. As Audio said, he is a good center but got the yips....

Seth McLaughlin reflects on transfer to Ohio State, how it helped him recover from lowest point of career

Buckeyes offensive line coach Justin Frye was a key figure in McLaughlin’s reclaimation effort, identifying and implementing “a little technique fix” to his snapping routine.

“I said, ‘I don’t see a guy with a snapping issue, I see a guy that has a little technique fix that we can get,’” Frye told AL.com on Saturday. “Here’s how we’re going to do it and here’s how we’re going to ID it. Here’s what we’re going to do here.

“So I think he just really relied on him and his family, the love of football, and then being able to come back and do what he did. That showed on tape. … (It was) just little things that maybe didn’t get caught or wasn’t looking at at the other place (Alabama).”
