I would like to be a fly on the wall if DeBoer and Saban have a season evaluation meeting in the near future. I think the defense is in a solid place. I'm stunned at the shape of the offensive side of the ball is in at this point. Is the OC good enough? Is the OL coach good enough? An area that really concerned me this year is the lack of adjustments made at half-time. Didn't really see any improvement from the first half to the second half.
Why would this even be a thing? Saban is not Deboer's boss. Saban has his own thing now. I think the OC position needs to be re-evaluated.

I will, the entire staff went from a season grade of a D+ to an F after today. Team didn't look ready to play just like in the OU game.
I wouldn't say the whole team. The defense came to play, and they seem to have gotten better as the year has gone on. Our offense gave Michigan the ball 4 times inside our territory, 3 of them inside the 20, and we gave up three FG's and 1 touchdown. Other than that Michigan got 3 points on one drive. In the OU game we gave up 24 points, but 14 of those points were on a pick six, and an almost pick 6. Our offense today was the same trainwreck we've had any time we've played a team we should easily handle.

That was one of the worst games I've ever seen Alabama play. yes, including all of the dubose's teams. I'm 58 years old. I have zero confidence in the current staff to turn it around in 2025
I don’t know where you’d rank Oklahoma, because it was worse, but that’s 2/3 where we looked awful overall.

He ran off Sayin and kept Milroe. As far as I’m concerned, he has no idea what he’s doing. I honestly thought we nailed the hire, but we were all deceived.
I used to think you had to give a coach 3-4 years before you really knew what you had.

This year was a wash with a lot of "coulda/shoulda". 3 games we definitely could have won and should not have lost. I'll give TN their win but the other 3 losses were lack of prep. That could be on the players and it could be on the coaches ... and/or both.

CKD gets year 2 support from me just from having to "keep it all together" this year.

Coach Stallings went 7-5 in 1990 after losing the first 3 and then getting blown out by Louisville in the bowl game.

This season was a disaster throughout, anyway. Hopefully lots of learning has taken place that will go into the 2025 development. The fact that we didn't go with TS in any of these last few games is very concerning. Either the coaches felt he wasn't capable or they were myopic.

We had multiple receivers open today on the last play (and many other plays) . ... and couldn't get it to them. Hurts redux.

Ryan Grubb and a 6th year QB are the only reason anyone even knows Kalen DeBoer’s name. He was not prepared for the SEC.
I wasn’t even impressed with his Washington team last year and thought they were very overrated. They struggled to beat bad teams all year and, because I was working in Cali, I actually watched all of their games. Been withholding judgement all season but I am less than impressed with the hire and less than impressed with him and the staff this season. If next year look similar, I think we need to move on pretty soon.

Ty gets screwed again…again.
IMO if he could play we’d have seen him playing by now.

I was always a fan of Lonergan when I saw them all together.
Maybe. I just don’t buy the idea that CKD is sticking with Milroe out of stubbornness, loyalty, or because he’s an idiot. I think he has reason to think Milroe gave him the best chance to win.

I hope he picks it up, and I had real high hopes but so far he has had two big wins............I dont see him at Bama long term

The big issue I see is that Milroe is hiding some other issues.

If you just go it's all Milroe's fault, you are kind if ignoring other areas of concern. For instance, there was no established running game this year. When you have a quarterback that's unreliable, that's exactly when you should be investing a lot of time and effort into getting it going. Instead, Alabama has a running back that averaged a perfectly respectable 5.7 per rush leaving because he only got 79 carries.

This team is set up to put everything on the shoulders of the QB and when he doesn't play well, we can all blame the QB. What we're not doing it asking why everything was put on his shoulders in the first place. The offensive coordinator is mediocre, was fired because his offense sucked at Indiana and is only here because he knew DeBoer. That's a problem, there are other problems to but unless Penix is going to come back to college, I'm not sure DeBoer's offense is going to look like what we think his offenses look like...

Milroe’s stock is falling faster than a pair of over-stretched tighty-whities. He did himself no favors today. In hindsight, I’m betting he wishes he’d opted out. (Lord knows, most of us wish that, too.)
