The new has to wear off of all this at some point right? its an arms race right now, but I still stand by the money pool not being infinite. I think these are the hay days, and while players will still make a lot of money, it wont be the money we are currently seeing in 5 years. Who knows though, I could be very wrongi keep thinking at some point there is going to have to be some sort of return on investment for all of this money being thrown at these kids
I understand what you are saying. The dollars might not seem that different but on a percentage basis they really are. It is like saying the Yankees didn't spend far more than the Braves this last year. Also, the notion that OSU spent far more than other schools is off base. Texas spent over $22MM, OSU was second at $20MM, Georgia was third at $18MM. Alabama was in a group at about 5th, spending $16MM.
I do not believe this. Now up to $10 million

Report: Miami QB Carson Beck lands $10M through transfer
Carson Beck's recent transfer to Miami (FL) already has proven to be a success off the field, with the quarterback landing as much as $10 million in combined NIL deals, Front Office Sports reported.www.joxfm.com
The only way I could see this being "true" is if the NIL is structured like NFL contracts with benchmarks that kick in escalators for bonuses. He may have a base of $3-$5 million but have an escalator of another million if they make the playoffs, and another several million if they win the NC. Or they could be just straight lying. LOL!I do not believe this.
I'm not saying that as a reaction, I simply don't believe he's collectively garnered $10m. I think Miami is playing games with these numbers, lying to make them appear to be more competitive in the NIL game than they really are.
FTR, Cam Ward reportedly got $2m.
who knows what is true these days. I’m sure all I am doing is spewing rumorsI do not believe this.

To put into perspective how much money these QB's are making, Quinn Ewers "hired" his mom to handle all of his business affairs and is paying her a salary. They're making enough to put people on their "payroll" so Beck making that kind of bank wouldn't be surprising.who knows what is true these days. I’m sure all I am doing is spewing rumors
but* I’ve been told Beck got around 6 million during his time in Georgia. Keep in mind these highly rated recruits, especially at QB, are getting paid while sitting on the bench. To bring someone in, costs money. To keep someone on the roster, costs money
so 6 million during his time at Georgia with 4 million coming from Miami this year
that’s the 10 million to plan college ball figure
That is just insane. Now up to $10 million

How many do you think are making quarterly estimated tax payments? LOL!i can imagine some serious tax problems coming up for a lot of folks in the next few years
to paraphrase...Also, the notion that OSU spent far more than other schools is off base. Texas spent over $22MM, OSU was second at $20MM, Georgia was third at $18MM. Alabama was in a group at about 5th, spending $16MM.
Right!?!? What % of professional athletes end up broke after their careers…now we’re going to move that age lower…adults have a hard time w/money…kids?i can imagine some serious tax problems coming up for a lot of folks in the next few years
But the article says he's landing $10m through the transfer, not cumulatively.who knows what is true these days. I’m sure all I am doing is spewing rumors

those aren’t the numbers I have “heard”But the article says he's landing $10m through the transfer, not cumulatively.
I simply don't believe Miami has that kind of swing.
Which makes me wonder how in the world, if reports of some these NIL deal are correct (and I’m not so sure they are), how can you justify spending 20, 30, 40 percent of your reported “NIL budget” on handful of players? For example I have no earthly idea what the NIL budget for Duke football happens to be (I think is “non disclosed”) but it is reported that Mensah, the transfer QB from Tulane, has a two year NIL deal valued at $8 million. So IF the Duke NIL budget for football is in range of tOSU, Texas, etc. of $20 million, then 20% is going to one player? And yes I understand that Duke is a private school with a lot of well heeled alumni, but how the heck does any of that make sense? But the article says he's landing $10m through the transfer, not cumulatively.

Still we ARE talking about college football. Not the NFL.mahomes receives roughly 20% of the entire teams budget
All of this is also creating locker room drama
no, im not saying Beck is mahomes. I am just saying 20% for the QB isn’t out of the insane norm
Downs Seth Judkins & Howard all played significant roles in Ohio State’s season. All mercenaries.I keep seeing this repeated but it's just not true. I think there are TWO starters this year they brought in from another team - a vast majority of their NIL spending was to retain their older players.
