Lotzeir Brooks was taking reps with some of the veteran offensive players at practice on Friday.
Bray Hubbard said, "Lotzeir Brooks, he’s doing really great. That dude’s fast. He’s hard to keep up with. I will say, I ain’t even gonna lie. Hard to keep up with him.”
There is a good buzz over Lotizer, he can fly. Also, Jalen Hale making a lot of noise. Our WR room is going to be lethal this year with Ty (or one of the others) throwing it. I feel Ty is going to be awesome in this offense.

I considered that, but TS is in the middle. If they were all the same size Mack would probably look the shortest in the background and KR the tallest in the foreground.

But we know Mack is 6' 6" and Keelon is 6' 3". I thought Ty was 6' 2". But in the pick he looks several inches shorter than KR.
It ain't about the height.

Jalen Hale Stands Out in Alabama’s Spring Practice After Injury Return

“I like Jalen Hale,” Hubbard said. “He got hurt last year, but he’s balling right now. He’s doing a great job. He’s locked in, and the whole receiver room is attacking, even with some guys dealing with injuries.”
“It’s just been great to have him back out there,” Sheridan said Friday. “Everything he’s been through—the perseverance, the grit, the toughness. The kid loves football. He’s had a big smile, and his presence has uplifted everyone around him. We’re just thankful he’s back with us.”

He will. It's been Ty's dream to play for Alabama. I hope he gets the start. He's been patiently waiting his turn. Like Mac Jones did. I'm also glad Hale is looking good. He was looking real good in 2023. I was afraid he might not get all his mojo back.

You draw an interesting parallel between Simpson and Mac Jones.

Both waited their turn. Both faced competition and fan enthusiasm for a hot-shot recruit (Bryce Young for Mac, Keelon Russell for Ty). Both were three or four years into college ball, and had more experience in the program and offense than the hot shot recruit.

I'm rooting for Ty to be the best overall option, and think he will prove himself to be just that. Maybe he has the ceiling that Russell does, or maybe he doesn’t. We're talking about this year.

Both also have what appears early on to be a loaded wr room. I can't wait to see the offense this year!

Watching Russel throw the ball I’m not sure we’ve had someone with that natural arm strength and compact motion in a long time, if ever. He’s got a lot of learning and college weight to be added to him, but if he can prove he has the accuracy and acumen to go with that cannon, he could be soecial.

It's a small data point, but at the all-star games, he showed a lot of accuracy and good timing as well. I think he could still use some understudy time just to get used to the speed of the game and learn (I generally think that helps all QBs), but he seems to have the tools.

Looks as if the staff is being smart with KR. They are praising him publicly quite a bit to send him a message that we love you and think you will be our future leader, but also limiting his reps at practice because he isn't quite ready. Hopefully if that is how it plays out he will be patient and continue to develop with us. I love his mindset and think he will give us a chance to win multiple NC's in the coming years.

Mack is the wildcard in this whole thing. He was at UW as a 17 year old Freshman under Penix. Grubb specifically recruited him there and is very high on him. He may make a run at the job before it is all said and done. However it plays out between Ty, Mack, and Keelon I just hope they continue to push each other and take us to the next level this season offensively.

Who said they are limiting (I’m taking it as more than 1-5 rep difference) his reps during spring ball? That wouldn’t be normal except injury and or no competition for spring ball.

I saw a press conf with CRG and he said:

1. Ty had the biggest jump in taking in all the info and processing quickly
2. Mack has done a good job of showing command (leadership) for a young player
3. Keelon is "awesome" and "unflappable"

I'm not sure what all of that means, but my take is that Ty is doing the best as far as understanding the offense and what they want to do. Mack also has all the tools to run the offense and he's maturing with age. Keelon has the most talent and the highest ceiling. He's still learning and making mistakes but he's not getting down on himself. It sounds like he has a good attitude about learning.

So...I think if things go as planned, Ty will be QB1, Mack will be QB2, and Keelon will redshirt and be the QB of the future.

As an add on to your very last statement. “ That’s assuming that all three are here following spring ball . “

Maybe limited wasn't the correct verbage. "Limited with the one's" per se. Anywho, I'm excited to see this team come together and hopefully we see a culture that is indicative of what we expect this Fall.

I think we have very good skill players, but our line better improve or it won't matter. I want to hear about some battles in the trenches, too.
Not being one dimensional will inevitably help the line regardless. Last year we were extremely predictable, we all know why, and teams were able to load the box up on us. Having an attack that includes the screen game, pushing the ball vertically, quick game, and also the run is going to open up quite a bit for us. I think we will be fine up front but I agree it is always a major focus and concern.
