If Bama has another 9-4 season, how long does Deboer last? I think they should give him at least a couple more years regardless, but do you think he lasts that long? Its crazy to me that people already want to fire him, he took over the highest pressure job in the country.
If he goes 9-4 (which is obviously counting the bowl game results) I think he gets another year to ease the buyout amount but Byrne is now in "actively looking mode", and the only way his job is saved next season is if he wins the SEC or plays in the SEC title game. Outside of that, considering your scenario, next season will be his last season at a 9-4 record.

If he makes the playoff with this gauntlet of a schedule he deserves another couple years. Toughest schedule Bama has played in a long long time

9-3 or 8-4 ain't making the playoffs this season. Your example said 9-4 which would make him 9-3 in the regular season and losing the bowl game or 8-4 in the regular season and winning the bowl game.

Yes i know, i am saying as a fan i am hoping for success obviously and my biased opinion is 10-2 with a playoff appearance so I think that he secures his job for another couple years.

If he can't figure out how to motivate and play better on the road and win SEC games on the road.....his stay won't be longer than the end of next season.

Especially with those road losses...Vandy / Oklahoma / Tennessee / FSU (add Michigan) and that's 5 games where DeBoer's team has looked unprepared.

Add potential road losses to Georgia, Missouri, South Carolina and Auburn this year......no SEC coach can withstand that.

I think Alabama is too talented to lose to Missouri and SC. I hate Auburn with a passion, but anything is possible at Jordan Hare

Talent isn't as important as our guys playing with great effort, execution, and toughness. Everyone in the SEC has talent. We saw last year that just showing up doesn't get the job done. When the ball is kicked off, all those stars next to your name disappear. And to your last point, we should never lose to Awbarn.

IMO, he gets another year, like someone said to ease the cost of a buyout. I do think he has to win on the road, beat teams he is supposed to beat (Vandy and Oklahoma last year), have a team that plays hard and remember, he is replacing the GOAT.

I can handle losing a game. What I cannot handle is losing a game like we did against FSU. We had no intensity, poor execution on both sides of the ball by almost everyone and horrific body language. How in the world are you not up for your first game of the year?

I could not agree more with that. I think Saturday on the road tells us everything we need to know about this team and how the rest of the season will go.

It definitely won't. The truth is we could lose this game and run the table. We could also win this game and lose multiple games where we are 2-3 touchdown favorites. Each week is its own season and you have to prepare for it as such. This game is huge but it isn't necessarily indicative of how this season will go overall. Win or lose we still have a path to the playoffs and a win doesn't ensure us anything at this point.

You think if Bama loses this game they actually run the table? I think this could be a loss that sends the team backsliding.
