Interesting take; thank you. Having said that, every doctor or nurse I've ever spoken to about it feels differently about the ACA (or most of it. I think we can all agree that parts of it were quite beneficial.) Hearing a different view from a medical professional is one of the reasons why we're here! The long-term cost of Obamacare has, as usual, outpaced expectation, which is what we've come to expect from programs such as this.Calling Obamacare a disaster is a bit much. It did expand coverage and most of the problems are due to the Republicans continuously fighting the notion that everyone should be covered.
Working in medicine for the past thirty years... The private insurance market is inefficient and costly. A national plan wouldn't be a panacea either. But we could certainly do better if we didn't have to deal with profit extraction on every level by private companies aided by their government allies.
This is just another grift ultimately... Follow the cash...
Yes, private insurance is a mess and without real competition, they have no real incentive to either improve or lower premiums. Obamacare didn't fix this and it never will. I still maintain that there is nothing the government does that the private sector can't do better by orders of magnitude. Any thoughts on the point of the article?
