State Penn and sexat are still getting votes by some voters. They are in the "others receiving votes". Not one or 2 votes either. They have 111 and 97 points, so some are not only still ranking them, but ranking them high enough to get over or almost 100 points.

I’m not ashamed to admit I’m not sure how good anybody is this year.

I would never ever never bet money on a CFB game in this new NIL/Portal era.

Before all this mess started you could pore over pre-season magazine's and read team forums and watch the games and after a few weeks have a pretty good handle on who was Great, Good, Mediocre, bad etc.

Now anyone can beat anyone on any given week. Not just hypothetically but legitimately it could happen.

It’s NFL type parity except without the high quality of execution and play.

You can watch a random Top 25 team vs a NR team and it looks like an old 11:00am B1G 10 snoozer.

The experience and togetherness of teams is gone and who ends us being the best teams at the end is basically who got the luckiest in free agency.

I will say though I look at that Top 10 and at least 5 teams look like big fat phonies.

Miami, OM, A&M, OU, IU, and TTU are suspect for how high they are right now.

I’m not ashamed to admit I’m not sure how good anybody is this year.

I would never ever never bet money on a CFB game in this new NIL/Portal era.

I think a good part of that is due to the Portal.

Powerhouse teams can’t go 2 and 3 deep on the roster at every position with 4 and 5 star players.

Guys that would have been backups for a few years can immediately transfer to a better situation and play right away.

Then you also have guys who were fringe 3 and 4 star players that are initially overlooked in recruiting that go to a smaller school and break out right away.

The traditional powers then tamper to get that kid to leave Wyoming or Miami(OH) or Wake Forest etc and upgrade their visibility.

Guys aren’t trapped at schools anymore and don’t lose years by transferring.

I think we are seeing all the previously lesser known players beginning to show up on teams we know instead of never hearing their name until the NFL drafts them.

Ohio State win over Texas does not look as good as it did. They were never in doubt of losing, but they did not dominate either. I thought Texas had a good defense until Florida lite them up. Maybe the Florida qb is coming into his own. Based on last year I am leaning toward thinking Ohio St. and Oregon are better than the SEC teams. We will see.

I do think A&M is a legit Top Ten. But I have a big question mark about OSU ... simply because of how suspicious the B1G is past them and Oregon. (I think Oregon may be the best B1G team.)

Both polls are in agreement on the the Top 10 albeit in a different order. The first thing I noticed was the AP now thinks Texas and Penn State are no longer worthy of being ranked while the coaches still think they are. It's a bit shocking considering the AP had Texas and Penn State ranked #1 and #2 preseason. Talk about being wrong!

I couldn’t agree more. Bama really should be in the top 5 but I’m glad we’re not because we need to stay hungry and have something to work toward.
