I say let them go. I like guys like Ty who are patient and learn. We have seen this with 3 out of the last 4 QB's that started for us.

My thought was Mack would transfer because he might get passed by Russell and be a career college back-up. Not everyone can be Brad Johnson or Matt Cassel.
And he threw some more that were inexplicably dropped 😉ðŸ˜Â.
Ty didn’t even play two full quarters in the blowout win in Game 2. If he had played the first three quarters, there’s no telling what his numbers would look like right now.

TBH, I thought Mac Jones wasn't going to be the best we needed that year and he totally surprised me (and most everyone else).
I thought the same thing back in August about Ty. But since the second game, it feels like Mac Jones 2.0 all over again!

Me too. I thought Mac was just going to be a place holder until Bryce Young could take over, but then Mac just kept playing out of his mind.
Simpson would be a round one pick this year barring something weird. Possibly high first round given premium on position. Which tells me he could be back next year to try to go for top 5, which we’ve seen players do under saban. Things can change but guy can read a defense, make quick decisions, hit targets, and throw on the run, all as a team-first leader. Rare.

Looking at the season stats, It seems Ty should be at #1.
That seems to be where the conversation is heading with some of the "draft experts"
The only one I really trust is Dane Brugler and he said Ty is heading towards a 1st rounder if he keeps it up. I think the only thing holding him back is a lack of elite physical traits. But guys like CJ Stroud and Bryce Young lacked elite physical traits and they went 1 and 2
His ability to run left or right then immediately flip his hips and throw a dime 20-25 yards down the field is very elite. Hes done it about three times and eerily resembles Aaron Rodgers when he does it. He does it quick, the ball comes out quick with velocity. Thats first round traits.

What I largely meant is that his biggest strength is processing and accuracy. He's not Lamar or even Josh Allen mobility wise( but does have mobility he's not Mac Jones either). and he's not Aaron Rodgers or Josh Allen type with arm strength. He also doesn't make a ton of off platform throws. None of that means he can't be very successful in the NFL. Just what might drop down his draft position.
I'm not at all hating on Ty. Just talking about how NFL guys seem to look at it, although again Bryce and CJ Stroud went early and neither had those elite traits either. They did have more starting experience though
Sometimes you play so well that you develop the confidence that you can make every play work. Tua used to do that a lot.
His arm has been stronger than I anticipated. It could be how quick he gets the ball out, but his ball has a very tight spin rate and looks like its got above average velocity.
This may explain why that throw seemed so uncharacteristic of Ty.
I heard someone else mention that too. This person said the TE ran the wrong route. Confirmed now.
