Bama Game Thread: Bama PostGame Thread - Bama vs. OU...

The Simpson for Heisman talk is over and thank god. He isnt ready, yet, to win a Heisman. Maybe he was reading his own headlines but it seems ever since he became part of the discussion his play has fallen off.
I don't believe this at all.

Ty will be a successful NFL QB ... with or without the Heisman.

This loss isn't Ty's fault.

Frustrating loss all round. Did nothing but shoot ourselves in the foot.

Missed FG, what's new? Several fumbles and near fumbles. Pick 6. An awful tackle attempt by (I think) Brooks that led to them starting their first drive in our end.

Ty played horrible today. Missed throws left, right and center. Took sacks he shouldn't have. Made poor choices, especially on the final play. He just needs to calm down and hopefully E Illinois will give him a chance to just get into a rhythm again so he can get back to his best.

Play calling is very questionable. On the one hand we say we want to get the run game going, but then we come out throwing? Why? Confidence and momentum is a big part of running the football and yet we do nothing to get the run game into a rhythm.

O line didn't want to block very well today. Carroll was awful. Formby not any better.

Hill is a bright point. He has to be the starter from now on.

Notice anything about all but two of the aforementioned points/events? All on the offense.

Grubb needs to sort his **** out.
Not to mention at least two dropped interceptions

As a kicker, I can say the kick should have been made. Ball was down at the time of the kick and his motion and timing didn't look to have been affected. Hollering at the snapper after you miss ANOTHER kick was not a good look.
The snap was high and to the right which effected the holders timing in getting ball placed. There was already an ok defender (illegally pushed over our OL) that was already in place to block. Making that is very difficult even for elite kickers. But he should never yell at the snapper

I think OU might have had something to do with the outcome.
Tip the hat to the Sooners. They came to play.
The OU Defense dominated the game. Handled the run game, put constant pressure on Ty, and covered the passing game the entire game. Just an outstanding defensive plan and effort on their part.

Careful now thats Eeyore talk...

10-2 and we should be in with the SOS we have had over other 10-2 teams...but this CFP committee is a bunch of useful idiots..they have Miami still in and behind ND...plus other rankings that are head scratchers....only thing we can do is win out and then hope. A win today would have practically guaranteed a spot
