Bama Game Thread: Bama PostGame Thread - Bama vs. OU...

The way the Barn has played we will be lucky to come out of there with a win. We just are not physical enough anymore we haven't been since Scott left. I hope im wrong but I predicted we would go 9-3. The bend dont break defense is nor going to work. And we can't keep making mistakes to decent teams. I love my team but I have not been a KD fan.
We gave up 212 yards and their longest drive was 41 yards??

Well said. Grubb doesn't seem to have any plan. We go take the lead in the second running certain kind of plays. So we get a 1 point lead then he goes to something different, despite the fact OU wasn't stopping what got us the lead in the first place. I don't think he has a plan for any game. It looks like it's just, okay, let's do this, then, okay let's do that. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. He sure didn't seem to have a plan for tonight.

He’s awful. I see why Seattle ran him out of town after one season.

Team isn’t making any noise in the playoffs. Hope to make the SEC and upset someone for the SEC trophy. But this team is not a contender for the big trophy. And I’ll watch every snap they play regardless.

Here is the thing I think most of us Bama fans are struggling with. I know I am. By and large this is a finesse offense. Its success comes from keeping the other team’s defense “off balance”. This isn’t an offensive philosophy that can “impose their will” week to week in the SEC.
So why is a generally “pass happy” offensive mind like Kiffin suddenly having success in Oxford this year? Because when they need to they can hit you with a power run game. Ten games in and we can’t do that.
Finally, in the “little things” that Saban harped on for years that has five star players sitting for two or three years because they couldn’t execute are the things our guys under CKD screw up time and time again. Communication to pick up blitzing LB’s, RB’s getting beat in pass protection, pre-snap penalties etc. CNS always said “you do the little things (fundamentals) over and over in practice NOT to get it RIGHT. You do them over and over so you DON’T get it WRONG.
Until CKD establishes a similar philosophy and have position coaches that embrace it, this what I’m afraid we are gonna get.

Special teams cost us today...hopefully that area will get some attention. Kicking game is a B at best and not sure why we messed with the punt return using Williams...got too clever and it backfired

I don't blame any individual player, it was a team loss. OU came to play and their defense is one of the best in the country. Turnovers are part of any game, but give credit to their defense, they were fast and aggressive and we had no answer.

A bunch of y'all are all worked up about CKD and Grubb, but the plays they design don't account for 1 fumble, 1 INT/Pic6, and one missed FG which accounted for 17 point differential.

If our players don't make these mistakes, we are relaxing and celebrating a two-score win tonight.

But because these players make these specific mistakes (and many other ones in the course of the game) we want to whine about the coaching.

Yes, coaches make mistakes in calls/judgments, but this game is on the players for the on-field mistakes!
