Alabama lands a commitment from 4-star OL Samuelu Utu: 'I’m stoked and proud to say I’ll be joining the family.'
Samuelu Utu has committed to Alabama. The four-star OL was on campus over the weekend and he wants to be part of the Crimson Tide.
Roll tide. Really athletic dude. Will play guard from what I've heard, but has size and length for tackle.
With my crimson-colored glasses on, I’m very disappointed. With my completely unbiased view, I’m not surprised at all. If I’m an otherwise non-affiliated top-flight OL recruit right now, is our current line philosophy what I want to hitch my future up to? A change needs to be made on our current staff.
Not surprising since he hasn't been on campus since June. Wondering if the staff has someone else in mind...
Fingers crossed we have another person in mind. In the recruiting world, a committed recruit not taking several unofficials during the season seems fishy.
Surely the staff saw this one coming.
Who knows, we may have been slow-playing him hoping he'd see the writing on the wall.

Can he move? I mean he’s as big as the guys we say can’t play in DeBoer’s system.
Run-game tone setter who showed noticeable improvement in pass protection from sophomore to junior year.
- Plays left tackle vs. high school competition but may better fit a right tackle spot in the future.
- Shows above average bend and leverage as a pass blocker.
- Physical assailant in the run game, but sometimes plays upright and gets out over his feet.
- Nevertheless, displays requisite movement ability to get on his horse as a puller/climber.
- Can he remain on the outside in the long run?
- Either way, could potentially provide valuable roster flexibility as a tackle-guard combo.
- Projects to the high-major level as an eventual quality starter who could become an NFL Draft candidate.

Who has said that? He is 300 lbs and I think we need 5 guys at 300+lbs. The Kaden Proctor jumbo guys are who are not ideal.
