Anyone with an ounce of sense and experience in life/business knows that the NCAA is desperately missing quality leadership. The inmates are running the asylum and I am not referring to players. Something has to be done...sooner rather than later.

Here is an article about Brian Rolapp, the new CEO/CFO of the PGA Tour. He is remaking the Tour as possibly no other person could do. He is listening, evaluating, and taking his incredible experience from the NFL and applying it to the Tour and its constituents. Here is a great article by Ron Green, Jr., detailing what he is doing and how he is accomplishing the goals. After reading this I am convinced that CFB needs a Brian Rolapp...unfortunately the NCAA seems to have no clue.

Basically the current NCAA has broken down, derailed, and fallen off a cliff. (not necessarily in that order)

They do need someone to come in and give the NCAA a complete overhaul or pull the plug. The NCAA is an obsolete model. The PGA just needed some tweaks and fresh ideas for guidance. I'm not sure a strong leader can cut out the cancer in the NCAA and expect it to survive.

The big question is how does the NCAA regain the power to enforce rules. For years they had that, but now, thanks to a bunch of lawsuits, all of that is off the tracks. Eligibility seems endless, players are making more than pro players etc. How does the NCAA get it back when all it takes is for some player to file a lawsuit when they don't like the rules.

Reorganization with clear rules at every level. Other than LIV players you don't see golfers suing the PGA Tour for losing their playing privileges. Life is a meritocracy...

The main problem of the ncaa is that it was treated like an academic committee meeting where the object is that no responsibility is ever taken for any decision made. Obfuscation is the name of the game. Totally opposite of what is needed when you have 130 egoist coaches, ADs, Presidents, and all the lawyers involved.

Not exactly the most consistent with punishment they handed out, either. NCAA had their chance and proved they weren’t worthy to be a sanctioning body. Needs to be shut down and replaced completely.

Lap Dog Mark Emmert says “Hey…hey…I was only feckless for 13 years….”

With the private equity investment game, NIL, TP all the center of attention, who do you turn to in order to kinda steer the ship in the right direction. It just seems like they put the same type of figure head in place that won’t challenge anything and bend so that lawsuits won’t completely break them.

I just think it’s time to replace the NCAA with something else.

Personally, and I'm not saying this is right, but I don't blame the NCAA, at least not when it comes to the mess that has become college football. The conferences and the CFP have made the whole system laughable. Meanwhile, every time the NCAA tries to enforce something, they get sued. I don't blame them for raising their collective hands and saying "we're done, if this is what you want then we will gladly continue to collect the revenue, but we are walking away from enforcing anything." It seems like the NCAA is inviting the conferences to create a new governing body, but instead the conferences are too busy bickering over the next playoff expansion to further pad their wallets that they don't want to take the time to say "okay, what is genuinely good for the sport so that that this can be a going concern five to ten years down the road." The last two offseasons, I thought changes would come, but they didn't, and I don't hear any rumblings of things coming from the media now, so I have no hope for any order to be restored. All I see is back and forth between the Big 10 and SEC about playoff expansion. It's ridiculous.
