Exactly! It's a very slippery slope to act like we know better than the coaching staff. DeBoer has my full support, no matter what he decides to do with the coaching staff. Contrary to popular belief, there is nobody who cares more about winning and being successful here than he does. After all, he is the one getting paid the big bucks, and he is the one with an 80% career win percentage, so we are in very capable hands. He's forgotten more about coaching than any of us will ever know.
I hope he’ll try to remember some of the things he’s forgotten going into next season, because he’s going to need it all.

Right or wrong, DH and other former players are speaking out as Alabama men. The irony is that the concept of an Alabama man is shrinking.

Who do you even pull for anymore? Is Jalen Hurts an Alabama man? I’ve always claimed him. Are Gibbs and Jamo Alabama men for spending a year with us? What about Horton? He spent a year, too. I claim Gibbs and Jamo because they were here for their last year but will not claim Horton. I claim Hurts because we drove him away, but I don’t claim Isaiah Bond because I perceive him as bailing on us for money.
Do you claim Alvin Kamara?

Drove Hurts away? I disagree.............I dont think we drove anyone away. Hurts still strongly identifies with Bama and someone who was driven away probably wouldnt do that

Can someone explain 247's transfer ranking system? We are #15 with 16 commits/(4) 4 star and (11) 3 star and ND is #10 with 7 commits/ (6) 4star and (1) 3 star??

They have a much higher average rating per recruit. Based on that, Notre Dame has the best transfer class in the country, and it's really not even close. Hard to argue with it because their lowest ranked player is 109, and 2nd lowest is 60. It's hard to really evaluate these classes properly because different teams have different goals in the portal. Some teams are just looking to fill the gaps, and others are looking to build an entire team.

So; if you only sign the highest rated five star you win??

Well I think there's probably a minimum number to that, and I'd probably set it at 5. 7 is a solid sized transfer class if you are mostly building through recruiting and don't have many exits. They had 14 exits, so it just depends on their roster number and all that mess, as to whether that's a net gain or a net loss . But I guess that's why they're #10, and not #1

So what you're saying is, only Debbie Downers are allowed to discuss? I'm just trying to inject some much needed positivity into this board, because it's been constant negativity ever since the Indiana game, even though there's plenty of reasons to be excited for the future. I mean, how good is Keelon Russell gonna be? What about EJ Crowell? Say what you want about our struggles this season, but DeBoer and co have absolutely grand slammed it out of the park when it comes to recruiting, so it stands to reason that things are only going to get better from here. Just gotta have a little faith and conviction that you made the right hire, even though it may not be going 100% exactly as you'd hoped, because things are not always going to go your way immediately. A good coach will right the ship, and his track record says that he will.
See his point #1 about this being a discussion board and things being OPEN TO DISCUSS. He did not say anything about only one side can discuss.
The point is that people call others who have concerns and make these concerns known are "Debby Downers", etc. We're not. We just have concerns. It is ok to have concerns. We can have concerns and still support the coaches/program.
