Link: Former Tide Player Charles Bediako Sues NCAA (Injunction) to Return to Bama

So... Norlander takes the position that when players leave college for the pros they shouldn't be eligible to return. Wouldn't the counter to that be "so if a HS player jumps to the pros from HS, then he should be eligible - because that's what's being done in the Euro model". Imagine what we'd have under that system... tons of HS players jumping to the pros to see if they could handle it, and when they can't they go to the college game. Yeah... that makes sense.

Yeah, I get it. And I'm opposed to the Euro invasion as well. As I stated in the FB "Age Limit" thread my opinion is if you turn 23 before Sept 1st, you're too old to compete. Exception being a medical redshirt for you Senior/Final year of eligibility.
I agree. I heard Richard Hendrix rail about it on WJOX about a week ago. Basically his statement was college basketball is for 18-22 year olds. He played 15 years professionally overseas. The influx of older European players with professional experience in college basketball is ridiculous.

But like @CajunCrimson it is mixed emotions. We ran through a gauntlet of teams with these types of players already this year. And it is easy to play “good for the goose is good for the gander”. Yet I think many of us feel most of this stuff is wrong.
We all want a level court where everyone plays by the same rules. But how do you establish a moral high ground of right or wrong when there are no rules any longer?

I personally don’t care for it either but if we are going to get beat by it then let’s play on a level playing field and get us some too.

Biggest question is what this does to the locker room. Takes PT away from others.
The right team and the right guys will embrace it because they want to win a National Championship. Do we have the right team? That remains to be seen, but this is the type of risk that could win a natty if it pays off, so you gotta take it imo.

I’m guessing he would be 15 minutes game and those minutes would come from Williamson and Bristow

I read that this would be his last semester of eligibility because of the 5 year window. 2years would be fantastic though.
Yep, I think you’re right. I’ve heard both. I’ve seen a couple people say he has two years left. I’ve seen some that say it’s only this semester.

But didn’t Nick Pringle play two years of Juco now he’s in his fourth year of division one. So his clock is six years. Why does Charles only get five?

The NCAA is such a mess

Heck, they could give him 3 more with their current logic.
