Any idea of what time we'll find out the verdict?

Who does the longer wait bode well for?

The deal is on the table. Saban reportedly met with Wayne H. this morning.

My opinion is there is a contract being drawn up, crossed and dotted right now for Saban to sign. Whether its from Bama or the Fins, who knows.

If he told Wayne H that he was going to stay, wouldnt we have already heard something of it out of Miami. On the pessimistic end, if he decided to go, would we have heard something.

I think his mind is made up one way or another and the process is in action, but for some reason it hasn't leaked.

Ditto.

redrum. redrum. redrum.

someone said an announcement would be made at 3pm but so far there's no word of a PC.

If he's coming to Bama, I would look for a plane to start flying before we hear anything official and for the announcement to be made in Tuscaloosa.

So far, no planes are scheduled from south florida to TCL.

We will probably know within 48 hours or less whether Saban is coming. I'm really in no hurry to be let down.

Per Mods: Plane used will probably be untrackable.

We tracked him down there, it just wasn't one of the obvious 3 - 1UA 75TP or 323P. He also flew in and out of BHM.

There is a FlexJet (same rental service he used to get from EWR to TCL for the RR meetings) scheduled from FLL to BHM at 3pm EST today but that could be anyone.

I don't see this being drug out another 48 hours. The guy at this point either knows or doesn't know. He's either struck a deal with the Dolphins or hasn't. If this goes another 48 hours the suicide rate across the southeast will double.

No way Wayne H lets this drag out for 48 hours. He seems like a no nonsense type of man and he won't want this circus floating over his organization.

I'll say this...my bet is that we'll know the verdict before we all have dinner tonight. If we don't know by then, I have no idea what to think other than the Fins have countered and he's having a tough time making his decision. The longer this goes on the worse for Bama in my opinion.

That's my opinion too. :)

Could Saban be trying to get a new contract from Miami with a "No Fire" clause and that be the hold up?

Personally I don't see WH doing that but that org. has done some crazy things the last 10 years.

John Clayton just reported that Saban is meeting with Huizenga at this very hour to discuss his future with the Dolphins. Clayton indicates that Saban is leaning toward accepting the Alabama job, and that the owner is not inclined to sweeten his deal.

Clayton usually is pretty knowledgable

I don't know the time, but on the Bamamag insiders board one of the moderators just said that any minute now it will be confirmed and he said I don't think I have to say what "it" is. Please Hurry, I've got work to do!!

There is no such animal as an untrackable jet powered aircraft anymore. Not after 9/11. A turbo prop flying under instrument flight rules does not need to file a flight plan, but professional pilots do anyway. If flying under instrument flight rules, the aircraft is tracked by the FAA. And, even a VFR flight can be tracked via radio communications. They may use an aircraft we're not familiar with and fly out of an airport that doesn't attract attention, but the bottom line is that if it has wings and a tail number, it can be tracked.
