CONFIRMED Assists.: Steele, Thompson, Smart, Alles, Pendry, Davis, Middleton, (more)

A suggestion

I really don't know much about these new coaches. Would it be possible, perhaps on a sticky thread, to post their credentials?

recruiting has led to some hints at positions:

a DL was told Bo Davis was the DL coach, not S&C.
Robert Marve was told Pendry as OC and Applewhite as QB coach.

A few thoughts... Maybe I wasn't holding my mouth right, but Pendry's resume was by far the hardest to put together. I can't help but think that MA will be groomed to take over OC within a year or two. I think I see Pendry being OC/RB this year.

With that being the case...

Pendry - OC
Applewhite - QB's
Marshall - OL
Middleton - TE's/ST's
Steele - DC/LB
Davis - DL
Smart DB's
Thompson - LB/WR/RB's?

That leaves WR's and RB's. Thompson takes WR's or RB's and we hire someone to cover WR's or RB's.

Unless, Thompson takes LB's, Pendry takes WR's or RB's and we hire for the other.

Or, maybe Pendry takes WR's or RB's, Thompson takes the other and he hire another coach on the D-side of the ball....

Oh... I'm done guessing.....

And my guesses for staff breakdown:

Pendry - OC/RB
Applewhite - QB/OC
Marshall - OL
Middleton - TE/ST
Steele - DC/ILB
Davis - DL
Smart - DB
Thompson - OLB/RC
TBD - WR

I know MA is a huge Tide fan, but, I really hope he gets some play-calling duties and not just qb coach. How do you turn down OL coach(LSWho) or HEAD coach(Rice) for QB coach at UA ? We need to be the one that snagged the up and comer and IMO hes the man!!! RTR:BigA:

I'm usually not a big fan of co offensive coordinators, but I'd really like to see CMA bring his spread offense to Alabama but have Pendry work with him on that, because CMA lacks experience and whatever he did at Rice, it wasn't attacked by the nations best DC's like it will be at Alabama. Basically the young guy and the grizzley veteran working as a team to bring something special to Alabama

Yeah, it will be interesting to see what type of offensive style develops. I'd like to see a power running game mixed with getting the ball to playmakers on the outside and in the slot. If we can develop and offense that can score 25 - 30 a game, combined with a Saban defense ....... scary.

Man, it's going to be fun watching this monster take shape over the next couple of years.

I'm just curious...do we have any clue TOTAL how much the coaching payroll is going to be once it's all said & done (assistants & all)? Just curious to see if the assistants' pay is also going to eclipse all of the other college programs'......Or if their pay is going to be more comparable, to , say, the coordinators at Auburn or LSU or Florida or USC....etc.

Is it possible to play with 2 footballs in the game with all the playmakers we have on offense.

Is this our new RB's coach: I'm not good at links so if it doesn't work article says he resigned his position at Clemson to take a job at Bama.

several sources are starting to report it. Looks like he's done a good job with Spiller, Davis, and Merriweather.

On a side note, he apparently coached two current coaches of star recruit Joe McKnight.
