On a side note, he apparently coached two current coaches of star recruit Joe McKnight.

Agreed. Clemson has had a great running attack for a while. I was not aware to the connection to Joe McKnight. Thats big too. This staff is shaping up to be an all-star team. I'm very excited.

Marshall - OL
Burns - RB's
Middleton - TE's/ST's
Davis - DL
Steele -DC
Thompson LB's
Smart DB's

Or does Thompson take WR's and Steele LB's? I really can't see 6 coaches on the O side and only 3 on the D side of the ball.

The inside and outside linebackers jobs are SO different in Saban's defense that one would imagine they have different coaches.

Amen to that, This staff may not be full of "name" guys, but their resume's in Southern Football and the NFL VASTLY outweight the resume's of Shula's staff, some of which had no business coaching in the SEC. I think the difference will be evident in the first game. I do NOT expect instant success, There will be nothing instant about it, it will take hard hard work from every player and coach starting now and through spring training, but look out come fall. The DUKE's and FL INT's of the world are no longer going to humiliate us. they will be cannon fodder, and we will move up the food chain.
