Agreed. Clemson has had a great running attack for a while. I was not aware to the connection to Joe McKnight. Thats big too. This staff is shaping up to be an all-star team. I'm very excited.
 
So, with Burns on board does the staff assignments look like this:

Pendry - OC/WR's
Major - QB's
Marshall - OL
Burns - RB's
Middleton - TE's/ST's
Davis - DL
Steele -DC
Thompson LB's
Smart DB's

Or does Thompson take WR's and Steele LB's? I really can't see 6 coaches on the O side and only 3 on the D side of the ball.

I think a better guess would be

Pendry- Co-OC/WR's
Applewhite- Co-OC/QB's
Marshall-OL
Burns-RB's
Middleton- TE's/ST's
Davis- DL
Steele- DC/ ILB's
Thompson- OLB's
Smart-DB's

The inside and outside linebackers jobs are SO different in Saban's defense that one would imagine they have different coaches.
 
It looks like there will be some very dramatic changes in the Crimson Tide football program, starting from Day 1 of spring camp. This is what we've been needing, and many of us wanting, for a very long time. This will prove to be very good for the Tide, and very bad for our opponents.
I can't wait to see what this combination can do. It makes me eager for our '07 season to begin. It's only what..228 days to go??? Let the countdown begin!!!

Amen to that, This staff may not be full of "name" guys, but their resume's in Southern Football and the NFL VASTLY outweight the resume's of Shula's staff, some of which had no business coaching in the SEC. I think the difference will be evident in the first game. I do NOT expect instant success, There will be nothing instant about it, it will take hard hard work from every player and coach starting now and through spring training, but look out come fall. The DUKE's and FL INT's of the world are no longer going to humiliate us. they will be cannon fodder, and we will move up the food chain.

As far as LT , yet another shirt .:rolleyes: Why didn't they just use a picture from his previous time with Bama ?
 
The pictures are no longer up. I guess they decided that those weren't the best pictures to put up on your official athletic department website. I bet one of the school's photographers is up at the AD as we speak, taking care of some business.
