B.Croyle & Kansas City (merged)

Re: B.Croyle & Kansas City .

Yeah, he even threw 14 times more INTs than Brodie did.
And 26 times as many TD's - for his team.

Look, I know you LOVE BC and HATE PM, but to compare their first seasons is impossible - PM's QB rating was almost 7 TIMES higher...

Re: B.Croyle & Kansas City .

I have been proven wrong many times on things like this. I knew that Vince Young would be a huge bust etc. etc. etc. All I can put into this debate is a sincere hope that Brodie will have a long glorious career and his name will be added to the Starr, Namath, Stabler pantheon of great Tiders in the NFL. As for JPW my feelings are about the same, I have nothing but hope and faith.

Re: B.Croyle & Kansas City .

Let's remember that Brodie only had 7 passes last season in the NFL. It is hard to judge a player's talent with that small number of snaps.

I don't hate Peyton, but I do hate imposters

Fun talking with ya VolunteerAudio.

I don't think you even realize how many times you've focused on the negatives of Brodie.

Re: B.Croyle & Kansas City .

Nice article. I'd really like to see Brodie become an NFL success story.Truthfully, though, I'll be amazed if he's ever a full-time NFL starter. I guess I remember too vividly overthrown, wide open wide receivers, five yards behind the nearest defender, and floated swing passes in the backfield that went for losses when the defensive guy got there right when the ball did."

Minus the "stare downs" sounds more like last season. Still still think Brodie will do well in NFL...

Re: B.Croyle & Kansas City .

First off the hype was deserved, Brodie had a LOAD of talent. He had many injuries that caused problems in his carrer. How can you say he was over hyped when injuries caused him to be unable to play his full allotment of college games??? Overhyped generally goes along the lines of lack of success. He certainly had success, took us to a new years bowl set Alabama passing records. He did over throw some passes which largely was a result of a crappy offensive line. Do you remember how many passes were dropped in 2005???? Ezekiel Knight dropped 3 or 4 against LSU that were HUGE. It is stupid to put any stock on the limited action he received last year. He threw 7 passes, thats not even a warm up.

Re: B.Croyle & Kansas City .

Yep, and it needs to be cut out. Being a Bama fan does not automatically translate into a Brodie fan and vice versa. I've watched the fascination with him with some bemusement for a long time. I'm getting a little tired of folks flinging accusations of being a rival fan because of disagreement. They discipline that practice on TI, and it falls within the "ignorant sparring" category here...

Re: B.Croyle & Kansas City .

It's amazing Brodie wasn't injured his senior season at Alabama. I believe he took more hits in that year than the rest of his time at Bama combined.

Re: B.Croyle & Kansas City .

Throwing on the run usually has alot to do with overthrows and floaters. If you want to be realistic, you would consider these things. If you don't want to consider them then you are not being realistic. Do you guys remember the offensive line play or have you forgot about it already?

Re: B.Croyle & Kansas City .

The floaters had to do with that being one of Brodie's weaknesses - he can't really throw on the run - never had to do it in HS. Fortunately, that is a strength of JPW. What I don't understand is why we can't let this matter RIP and let Brodie prove what he can do. He is a QB with extraordinary strengths and also some cavernous weaknesses. What he does about those weaknesses will determine whether he makes it big in the NFL or becomes a career pine-rider. When it gets around to where you have to believe that he should have been the #1 draft choice and is the best QB to ever play at Bama - OR YOU ARE A FAN OF ANOTHER SCHOOL - then things have just become too weird for me. I guess part of it is my age and the number of QBs I've seen pass through UA...

Re: B.Croyle & Kansas City .

BC was a fine college QB... let's wish him well... yes he had some overthrows... yes the oline was terrible... yes we had plenty of drops... he did the best he could... he wasn't the best we ever had or the worst... above average sec qb...

Re: B.Croyle & Kansas City .

I don't think that's the case at all - I just think that many have a realistic view of his abilities. He has an amazing arm, and when he is 'on', watch out. But for every game we saw BC light it up, we saw three where he played rather pedastrian, or worse.

I'd LOVE to see him blossom in the NFL, but considering his hype/performance ratio at Bama, I'll just wait and see...

Why does negativity have to equal realism and optimisim have to equal naiivity (sp?). I just can't get that for the life of me.

Re: B.Croyle & Kansas City .

Sorry, but believing that Brodie has a decent chance at a NFL career, but it's not a lead pipe cinch, doesn't equate to negativity. You can say it, but that doesn't make it true...
