He stands at 91-42-1 right now. Will he get that 100th this year and if so, against whom?

LSU is our 9th game, BTW. Ironic, no?

No
IMO he will stall at 98 this season
He may not get his 100th win against LSU, but that's a joke to think that Bama will only win 7 games out of 12 (not including a bowl game) this year. We've got 6 games in the bag and only need to beat one team for 7 out of Arkansas, Georgia, FSU, UT, LSU & Auburn. Our 6 that are in the bag are; Western Carolina, Vandy, Houston, Ole Miss, MSU, ULM. It is my personal opinion that we will beat Arkansas and have a great shot at beating UGA and if you read what most experts think (it was in SI this week) FSU will be down again. To top that off, UT will be a win in my estimation too and that doesn't take into account LSU and Auburn and I do believe Auburn is a win too. Bama will win at least 9 games in my personal opinion giving Saban his 100th BEFORE we go to a bowl game.

For starters....if the past 6-7 years have tought me anything, it is that no game is a given win for Alabama until we are fully rebuilt and stable regardless of the coach. It will take coach Saban at least 2 years, maybe 3 to get this team playing at it's full potential. With that said. i believe we will win 7-8 games this year including the bowl game. I think our final record will be 7-6 or 8-5 with 9-4 being a slight possibility. However, that is just my humble opinion.

winning 9 is not impossible, but remember yu guys lost a lot of starters on defense...In the SEC defense win games...IMO the 3-4 defense saban said will rely on will be the key..big Q can you stop the running game??

I am confident that we will win at least nine games this season

Depth on defense could be a problem which obviously means you control the TOP and keep your defense off the field. If the offensive line has improved to where they should be we may be able to have a ground game capable of ball hoggin.

we return 6 starters on defense, which is over half and more than some other sec teams (florida lost all of them). i think 9 wins would not be that hard to get.

The only running game that really worries me is Arkansas. They will pound you and pound you till someone breaks a big gain then start pounding again.

I'm worried about the Houston game. Not to say we shouldn't beat them (they lost their QB) but they were a quality team last year who was in my estimation no worse than the OSU team we lost to in the bowl game.

Bayou hit the nail on the head. Arkansas (primarily) and any other teams that have a decent run game (like UGA, Tennessee, LSU, Auburn) will try to run the ball more against us. One, we're sorely lacking in depth and even if we get the true freshmen this fall to play lights out on defense, we're still gonna be thin, and two, it'll take some time off of the clock and keep our offense off of the field, which most (if not all) teams we play know it'll have to carry the team this year. Our season is made/broken on how much of a run defense we can play this year.

glad you brought up Arkansas - we beat them last year but lost the game. I do not remember... how in the world did we even come close to controlling mcfadden or the other RB...? Was macfadden hurt

He scares me more than anyone we play - he has the talent to dominate a game

I'd love to have a punishing running game

I hope your team thinks those games are in the bag as well.

I think McFadden played against us but wasn't full strength yet. He broke a toe or did something bone headed outside of a bar a week or two before their USC game.

Arkansas has me worried too. On paper, they should run all over us all day and possibly take us behind the wood shed. OTOH, they are about to implode as a program. That game is going to be pretty interesting all the way around. You also have the history of that game. Whoever wins, usually has a pretty good year. I actually wished we palyed them later in the year than we do. We should have a chance to develop some of that young talent up the middle by mid season and it would also give them a chance to self destruct.
