I see alot of you view our troubles being discipline related. I guess I will have to agree for the most part. I dont see Phil changing too much in that area. I also believe that most programs around the country suffer this same fault. Some get more press than others. Of course any SEC team will get press over troubled players. IMO this is just the rest of the nation trying to beat down college football's superior conference. I think we can all agree that the SEC reigns supreme in college football. With UT's recent success in basketball, along with the rest of the conference (especially UF's recent NCs and UK having a new coach) we (meaning the SEC) will soon possibly take the basketball world by it cajones too. Back to football. I have heard rumblings around other sites that say your QB JPW will not pan out the way he is being touted. What are your thoughts or concerns there?[/QUOTE]
I have heard rumblings along these lines on sports talk radio here in Charlotte. I don't feel like these Charlotte-based radio personalities are very informed when talking Bama football, but the opinion that JPW is a weak link is not relegated to Bama's rivals' websites. I disagree with the opinion that JPW is a weakness waiting to be exploited. From watching him last season, I am convinced that he has the talent, the leadership, and most importantly, the competitivness to take Bama to the next level, at least the level to compete for the SEC championship. He had great moments last year, and he had what seemed like those bonehead, sophomore, first year starter moments as well, but I thought that his low moments were more the result of weak O-line play combined with ineffective play calling/coaching. I am excited about JPW playing in CMA's offense. I think that the Bama offense will surprise alot of people, even some Bama fans. We'll see.
How about Ainge? Is he getting healthy? How do you expect him to perform in the no-huddle offense that I've heard Cutcliffe is installing?
