Tennessee's no-huddle offense (good or bad)

I want to see Tennessee try it on the 3rd Saturday in October and rattle Ainge a whole lot.

I keep seeing some on here talk of Ainge getting rattled. I don't think that will happen anymore. He got rattled his Soph year but if you watched any at all last year you saw a kid who was in total control of himself and his team. I never saw him rattled last year and I watched every game. So that does not concern me at all. The depth and experience at WR is more the issue.

Ya'll won last year but I thought he looked horrible against our mediocre defense. Threw several interceptions and one that would have cost you the game had the corner had any evasive moves. Or if somebody could have thrown a block. I don't know how he did the rest of the year. I don't watch you that much.

Usually at the beginning of the season, offenses are still rusty with their timing and defenses are usually ahead of them.

Lord, I hope Bama doesn't see this happen. We desperately need the offense to be clicking to give the defense time to get experience.:BigA:

Most schools pretty much run a "check with me" offense in some form or fashion. The difference will be it will now be done from the line instead of huddle. There will be no HUNH in K-Town you can bet on it. The hope is to limit subs on the D. If the D tries to sub then you will see a quick snap and get 5 free ones. Similar to the Colts, we kinda have an in with the Colts you know.

About once every couple of games the D will get caught with the wrong player packages on the field for a play or two . Good defensive coaching staffs could care less unless they literally fall asleep in the booth . IMO , it's about 95% gimmick and offers no real advantage . The offense will make almost as many , if not more , errors in substitution packages and wasted timeouts as the defense when things get going . 6 in one hand , 1/2 dozen in the other . JOMO . :cool2:

if you ever want to see how NOT to run a "check with me" offense just wtch clemson. tommy bowden is a complete idiot and that offense is amazingly predictable.... yes even more than our jumbo package. rich rodriguez knows how to run that offense but bowden is a pure no-talent hack....kinda like all the bowdens except for bobby.

Although, Bobby is starting to slide towards the "standard" that his sons have set for themselves.

This is why I hope we can control the clock with our offense so we won't have to see that much of anyone's offense. At least till we can get our defensive depth developed. Nick ought to have'em developed by then. No concern here.

If I were a Vol fan, I think I'd be hoping Fulmer's hands were kept off the offense... :D

Come on out of the Closet wearing your BIG ORANGE life is wonderful here on the side of the good guys. lol

but you know he would rather run than anything else.

The problem comes with the D not having time to get fresh players in. That is why the Colts have worn out so many of their opponents. But you are correct in that if the O doesnt get it, there will be just as many mistakes on their side of the ball. If this works for UT, we will be the talk of NCAA football this year.

Let me clarify. Even if UT is successful with the switch to the "no huddle", it will not be "the talk" of the CFB world. Hawaii's offense will get more press nationally than UT's offense this coming season.

If it doesn't work, UT will probably still be the talk of NCAA football this year. Especially, considering the coaching change that will follow.:biggrin2:

Hawaii will get press I agree. But if the NH at UT works and UT makes a run you can bet you, UF fans, UGA fans and many others will be sick and tired of seeing CPF, Cut and Ainge all over Sports Center. We all might be reminded that Eric Ainge is the nephew of Danny Ainge former Celtic. I even got tired of that crap last year.
