Calera, Al
Saban made reference to class in his presser. And the goobs on JOX made reference to someone on the team or staff getting a call from a fan. Is there any validity to this? If so we need to send you know who with some cement to this fans house.

Re: Who got a call?

The goobs on JOX repeated exactly what Saban said:

Talking about people not showing class - "...Calling an assistant coach late at night after the game..."

He didn't mention what coach, but he was dang clear that he was not happy.

"If your not going to do anything positive for the program, then don't do anything at all."

Re: Who got a call?

Unfortunately we have our share of morons among the fan base, as is the case with all schools. It is hard to imagine anyone having a problem with the job that our coaches and players have done so far this year. The coaches have this team playing above their potential and we should all do our best to let them know how much this effort is appreciated among the sane majority of the fan base. If someone did call a coach to complain, this person is either a complete idiot or a barner...or both...

I listened live to Coach Saban's press conference. He never clearly indicated that an assistant coach was called at home, but he did say that he wasn't called because he doesn't answer his phone.

The bottom line is that we have a growing minority in our fan base that are idiots. They refuse to be positive...as Coach Saban always harps on. I noticed more taunting from Alabama fans this season than ever before. During both the Arkansas game and UGA game, other Alabama fans apologized to visiting fans who were being berated just for supporting their team by idiotic Alabama fans. It's ridiculous...

Careful bit of a teaser, they will get ya during the season.

Re: Who got a call?

He never indicated that it was a coach that got a call... it could have been a player. Either way, stupid thing to do.

Can we say ETOH induced flaming on behave of a few hothead fans.
We always have a few that make us all look bad.....

Re: Who got a call?

There was way to much of it after the Arkansas game. Way to much. It is really embarrassing, but I dont know how to arrest it.

It is embarassing and the fact that Coach Saban thought enough of it to be the first thing he addressed in a pc after a loss is telling. We need some of our fans to act like they have some sense, and be gracious winners and good sports in a loss.

Assuming somebody did in fact actually get a call (jury's still out on this), it could have very well been a fan of an opposing team. I mean, people call in to radio shows all the time pretending to be a fan of another school. Why not call a coach's house and do the same thing? Certainly wouldn't be a shocker.

Is it just me or do these JOX radio goobs constantly try to stir the pot? Nick did not sound happy, but he sounded far from livid. He addressed it and that was that. He will not be run off by one or two stupid fans. Sometimes I think we have some the best sports radio in the country, and then there are times like this when I think that the National Enquirer is more valid.

Downright pathetic.
I guess this person couldn't get through on the post-game call-in show to publicly showcase his intelligence, so he decided to take his grievance directly to the source of his "pain."
