Man I like the kid and for the last three weeks has played like a
Heisman hopeful but today didn't have a clue. I don't know what
the deal is but JPW needs to get more consistant week end and
week out. Don't want to sound sour but sheesh !!!!!!!!

RTR !!!!!!!!!!!!:conf2:

uh.....did you mis the LSU game?

He's got to get better with the ball security aspect of his position...we're not going to beat anyone if our QB is giving the other team 14 gift-wrapped points each week. Plain and simple.

If we can't establish a running game it really doesn't matter what the QB is capable (or not) of doing. We're never going to win more than a handful of games throwing the ball 40+ times a game if we haven't established the ability to run first.

The inability of our OL to actually block a 3-man rush from resulting in a sack at THE critical point in the game - REGARDLESS of what JPW does - says as much about the OL as it does the QB, coaching, or WR.

I thought we ran the ball pretty well today better than last week. Horrible QB play is the problem. Enough is enough!!! He needs to work extra hard for the next 3 games and the offseason if he is gonna startr next yr.

If McElroy was better than JP im sure he would be playing.Thats the sad part about the QB situation at Bama.I'd love for Saban to be able to redshirt Star Jackson next year but its going to be hard to do that given the current situation.

Were we running that poorly though? 4 ypc isn't that bad against a quality opponent. Sure, the QB's play can affected by the players around him but when two horrible throws lead directly to MSU's only two scores (and the difference in the game)...you can't defer blame from the QB. I'm not going to talk about the sensitive subject anymore, but lets be realistic: Wilson was the reason Alabama lost this game. That's that...and my mouth is officially zipped.

The latest flavor, Jackson, will lineup well behind Mcelroy and Fanuzzi, if in fact he plays QB at UA. Jackson is going to get quite a surprise after all the FL sunshine and AL smoke that has been blown up...and finds himself behind two guys that played and excelled in a "Big Boys" league and were rediculously ranked.

Everyone keeps saying that JPW must be the only qb. Maybe he plays better in practice but until GMc is given a chance we will never know. The only constant thing that I can see is he keeps getting us beat. At least give GMc a chance to see what he can do. We may have a diamond in the rough just waiting to shine.

I have read different reasons why we did not do very well today but the number one reason is that JPW could not get it together. Last week game and this week game he looked awful, scared and had no idea of what was going on. We should have won last weeks game as well as todays game but careless mistakes by the quarterback and others will cause a lose every time. Hopefully he will get it together and we can win the rest of the games this season:mad2:

What about FSU and GA he is just inconsistent and average. He would be great at UAB or a sunbelt team that is the caliber of Football player he is, but he is a hell of a baseball player. The problem is this is not Alabama Baseball. He needs to work harder and try to be an SEC caliber QB.

Count me off the JPW-hatewagon.

He's no Joe Montana, but come on. He's obviously the best we have and holy hell has taken a beating for it the last 2 years.

After watching the fsu game and then seeing the press conference I figured we'd never see GM.

I wouldn't be surprised if he transferred.

Saban must know what he's doing. I don't think I should 2nd guess a guy that has a ring even though I have done it in the past. I think I'll just have to be patient and see how he plays out over the next few years.

Me being patient I guess is part of the process to,:rolleye2:

You're right. The kid has basically gotten his brains beat in for two years. He drives me nuts, though. Truly nuts.

Regardless of pass attempts, completion percentage, touchdowns or interceptions, a quarterback must be counted on to make decisions that do not hurt his team when under pressure.

This is true whether the OL performs poorly on one play or on every play.

By that standard, I think next spring will be very interesting.

I'm sure Nick has enough frustration to equal all of ours combined. I think the pickle we're in now goes back to the suspensions (see Jess' article above). We lost our only dependable big back and we lost two starters on the OL. Worse, BJ couldn't go and Andre is far less than 100%. Wilson is just getting no time. Some QBs can handle being rushed better than JPW can. That's just a fact. He has to have time and he's had none. When JPW is rushed, it's obvious that his mind goes blank. He couldn't see six open receivers running all over downfield waving their arms. That's harsh, but that's what we've got. We have two more games and I think Nick stays with JPW, no matter his shortcomings. However, over the spring, I think there'll be some really hard looks taken at the QB position. I don't think Wilson is a lock to start next year...

Maybe Coach Saban should tell him if D.J.'s covered to take off running. Couldn't hurt. At least he would be headed in the right direction instead of backwards.:rolleye2:

You can't put it all on him. After all, what do you expect from a freshman who hasn't even had much practice, much less has had to lead the team by himself. Maybe in his sophomore year he'll get his confidence together and will be able to make the right decisions.
Wait. That was two years ago. He's a junior now, right? He's supposed to have it together now, right? He's supposed to be able to make those decisions, and to find his receivers, right? Yeah? That's what I was afraid of. Never mind.
