Stadium Food Prices/ Five Guys, Dreamland in Stadium (Merged)

Re: Stadium Food Prices

I paid $16 for a Coke, hot dog and pretzel before the game.
Ridiculous, and I won't be going into the stadium hungry again.
Bottom line ... we all have options, and eating inside BD is but one of them.
And by the way ... $4 for a bottled water?!?!?! :conf2:

Re: Five Guys, Dreamland in Stadium?

They had dreamland in the student section. Most everything has jumped in price. $4 stadium dogs, a new $6 bama? dog, and all the dreamland is pretty pricey. I expected the better food to be more expensive; I just wish they actually put more BBQ on the nachos.

Re: Stadium Food Prices

Hot dog, bottle of water, nachos, and a souvenir cup = $19.
Popcorn and a souvenir cup - $15.

Granted the souvenir cups ARE larger than they have been in the past, but geez. I usually get water in a cup so I can have the ice, but for 6 bucks, I'll go with Coke.

Thank goodness they've gone back to Coke. They should've never gone to Pepsi!

Re: Five Guys, Dreamland in Stadium?

so, dreamland rented the name to a regular concession stand. I'm disappointed! I will not make it to T-town until mid season. lost my tickets because of divorce/family death combination. I was looking forward to concession changes, as I never really ate in the stadium before, always before/after game at tailgate

Re: Stadium Food Prices

I bet those prices will be dropping real soon.

I'm afraid the prices will continue to go up as long as they are selling out of items.

I ate before the game. The student center had reasonable prices. Also, if you wait until after the game and walk along an empty area in the stands, you can grab a souvenir cup which someone left behind.

While I agree that the prices of the concessions is absolutely ridiculous lets not lay blame soley on UA. When is the last time anyone went to a MLB, NFL or NBA game. Or whenis the last time you went to the circus or took the kids to Disney on Ice. It doesn't matter the event anymore, these are the prices you can expect for food/drink any time you go somewhere these days.
One coke per game for me and my son, that's about all I'm willing to fork out.
Get there earlier and tailgate, just don't forget you'll have to pay for that spot you used to have! :eek2:

Re: Stadium Food Prices

$6.00 Cokes -- The University White Collars have absolutely lost their minds...

And

What's with not having the JumboTron on the Quad this year...?!?

The University said that it was due to "financial constraints" -- this coming from an athletic program that had a +30 million NET profit last year,

Removing the JumoboTron from The Quad -- That's pretty cheap IMHO

** Instead of a JumboTron the University has gotten a little greedy -- they zoned a few more reserved tailgating locations there **

:mad2:

Did anyone see the Quad last year after the UGA(?) game on Sunday morning? That is why they moved the Jumbrotron to the Soccer field and then got rid of it. Empty trash recepticles and a lot of trash all over the Quad where the jumbrotron people were sitting. It was disgusting. I have the feeling if there was more respect left for the campus and quad, it would still be there.

Aren't the concessions contracted out to Centerplate Inc.? Instead of blaming the University for everything complain to Centerplate about their prices.

I agree with BT, you had to know centerplate would raise prices, and with the change in menu, options , there would be an increase.

Re: Five Guys, Dreamland in Stadium?

I sat in the upper deck above the Zone (sec 424). In the Bear Den, there was DreamLand Nachos, but I didnt see ribs on the menu. To the right of the Den, we had Ezells. I did see coming in on the Upper SouthEast side a big DreamLand sign. My wife and I love Five Guy's fries and was looking for that but didnt find it.

They dont serve ribs. The bone could become weapons. :eek2:

Joseph you may be partially right on that. The other issue was the crowd the jumbotron was drawing down to an already overwhelmingly congested area. The crowd around the quad was beginning to spill out into the street and causing even more of a traffic problem. Tuscaloosa and the University are over capacity with just the new stadium capacity and tailgaters. There were actually a number of people showing up just to watch the game on the quad. It was just too much to control in that area.

Everything costs more. :conf2: Getting harder and harder to tailgate near the Quad. Parking is a nightmare. Prices in the stadium are up. We were leaving BD and my wife said the only thing we don't have to pay for are the airconditioned latrines set up around the Quad. Gene just hasn't figured out how to put a money slot on the door, but word is he's working on it. :) Having said that I still love the TIDE and I'll keep coming back to support them. Hopefully the University is seeing a good portion of the proceeds. See ya'll next week and RTR.
