They can't afford to pay or buyout Saban so I am not worried and the only thing I am worried about is Ole Miss right now!!!!! ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!

I think there will be rumors floated out about how "CNS is interested in the Clemson job, and has had his agent contact the Clemson AD", but that's just what they'll be, RUMORS. Our rivals will be starting as many rumors about CNS leaving as they can, but don't believe it. He's here to stay. Read the Forbes article on him. He has exactly what he wants here: COMPLETE control, a great recruiting base, fan support, and a winning tradition with which he can build a championship on. Few other schools, maybe no other, can give him all of these factors, and Clemson definitely can't!

Their first choice will be Bobby Johson he is doing well at Vandy and he's a Clemson Alum.

With only 2 cowardly examples I can think of, most coaches want o step up, not down.
(Bill Scurry and Franphoney are the exceptions because they are total frauds and are more adept at talking about character, dedication, and loyalty than exhibiting it.)

Aww, I wanted to make a humorous response as to how Saban was OBVIOUSLY going to be the next Clemson HC, but it looks like the original poster beat me to it! Good one, horn fan. :biggrin:

I agree with Johnson possibly being choice #1 but, if Dabo does well why not give him a chance? I bet he would relate with the players well and you always hear good things about his coaching. If he does really well he could "come home" when Saban retires in 15 years with multiple NC's.

There may be no coach in America that didn't get a feeler from this coaching search, but it won't be a big name to end up there an up n comer, or a hanging around doing the best he can with what he has and still semi successful ? Maybe but an established successful school will not be robbed by Clemson.
That's just my opinion.
I'm not the least bit concerned about Saban or an SEC coach that is "IN" good standing lol.

On a serious note.
I think they take a look at Bobby Johnson and Will Muschamp.
How old is Bobby Johnson? And he has benefitted greatly from a good start to the schedule. USC had QB problems when they played South Carolina - Ole Miss committed 6-7 turnovers and was still in a position to win late in the game - Auburn, well you know about Auburn. Then they lost to lowly Miss State....
Will Muschamp is a temp job though(IMO). If he wins then UGA will pick him up once Richt moves on or retires. That could be 10+ years though. Muschamp is a UGA alum.
Auburn will look hard at Muschamp too. if TT is gone. TT is a good coach though, great on defense - they need some offensive identity.
Some hotheads(lowder) may make a jerk reaction in order to get Muschamp. This jerk reaction may have already happened at Clemson.
Other coaches.
Chris Peterson (Boise State)- if he wants to get some roots in the south. ACC is good trainging ground. Pay raise
Mendenhall - same reasons.
Edsall - Same reaons.
Schiano - Rutgers is in a rut. ACC is a step up gets more selling points at Clemson than he does at Rutgers.
Just outside the cusp - Mich State Dantonio - from South Carolina. Doing good job at Mich State. But he could probably hold out, win more at MSU, then get a great job somewhere.

I have it on good authority that Muschamp (sp?) is the top choice but Johnson is also up there. I hope that Dabo is able to hold the team together the remainder of the season so that he can show what he's capable of doing there.
